Couldn't see whether they were rubber track pads. Defo a 105mm a sensational gun that I never missed with ..... never ! Not able to spot the IR bracket. What a privilege and honour to have served aboard the Centurion Tank from Jan 7 1966 to Sept 1969, when we had to let 12 BA 70 go and had Chieftain 00 EB 70 to replace it. I left the Army then after a brief spell in Recce of 2RTR. Sausage and beans cooked on the exhaust of the auxilliary generator :) Absolutely soaked wet throuigh and dry in an hour after opening the rear decks and lying on the rediators, engine ticking over :) Puting the Brew on 10 mins before coming to a stop to have a cuppa. I remember it well.4 0 clock in the morning scaning the horizon looking for a target from red land or blue land :) Reversing out to the ranges to do rehearsals for the Cambrai 1967 50th anniversary parade with H.M QEII coming over to inspect us all. In reverse ! The reinforced concrete roads around the ranges of Hohne were destroyed by that because then the tracks were the right way round in reverse ! There were complaints from Baron Von someone or other ! I loved that Tank :)

That Centurion engine sounds really good. ( I know it may need some tuning :) but it's in good hands ) 'Hill climbing' and subsequent rescue was so funny, I have tears n my eyes laughing with you. Thumbs up!

I understand that Matt but we all have a duty of care and don’t want to see any one hurt a friend of mine was killed with a hijab lifting in a field near power lines it so easily done keep up the good content 👍

Well it was interesting watching the work on the clutch and gearbox that I saw, no doubt the last section was trying to adjust the clutch so he could get all the gears, but what was all the messing about in 4wd's in the middle? Thanks for your answer Matt, fair enough I expect, you had had a hard day after the long drive.

Why take the gear box out to change the clutch? We changed those in Vietnam in approx 2 hours. lt so it needs a set of cleaned spark plugs to cure the motor running poor.

I’m on a construction site in Qatar anything to do with a crane & power lines in close proximity would take four months & a mountain of paper to get approval plus the on the job assessment, step back & take five, local permit to work, emergency mitigation plan, Inertia create a very safe work place

Did you guys park it under the powerlines to add a bit of a challenge ?
