Will long travel suspension easily make Subarus more capable offroad?

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

To preface this video, there are certainly outliers who have built their lifted Subarus to be on the extreme side of offroad capability with a lot of custom work. But can the average person just throw on a set of long travel coilovers and immediately begin rock crawling with way more usable suspension travel? I don't believe so.
Am I saying Subie owners shouldn't buy aftermarket suspension lifts? No. Not all. But my hope is to set people's expectations more realistically.

What’s your opinion on removing sway bar end links to get that little bit of extra travel?

Funny you ask that because I recorded a video about that right after I did this one and haven't had a chance to put it up. My opinion: I run my Subaru without sway bars. Sway bars definitely limit suspension travel. That being said, obviously we should always make sure our cars are safe before getting back on the road. But in my experience, driving without sway bars on a lifted Subaru doesn't alter the driving experience much.

@@LiftedImports7 I have a 23 forester wilderness with the 1 1/2 inch ADF lift on 235/65/17s and I removed my rear sway bar end links. New to all this “off roading” stuff more into camping and just getting out there. Trying to take in as much information in as I can. Your videos help so much

@@Dt5hunnidI have an 05 forester on a 2 inch lift and I’ve driven around with the front swaybar disconnected for a bit. Only thing I noticed was a very slight bit of roll through corners, and slight “wandering” at highway speeds. Overall though, hardly noticeable. Maybe it would suck if you had to swerve hard very abruptly? Idk. Haven’t ran with the rear disconnected personally.
