@@Jake-co3wk Comments on ‘Will Kate Marry Otello? | Upstart Crow | BBC Comedy Greats’ 29.10.22 0541am he worshipped the gourd and married the sandal, no doubt...? a very enticing simile where having to do one's duty for the fatherland is concerned thus carrying on the lineage as opposed to watching from afar as the woman you love and who will allus look hot! moves on to a barrage of pointless sex after pointless sex with uglier men than yourself. maybe that's what he means??? in such matters and after such a hot air sesh i find the distant sound of a flushing lav dampens such matters. or pomposity. or, in david's case, harry enfield sat on the john in the kitchen seems to put paid to most waffle... however well meant or convoluted. a fine show. a few tedious aspects but on the whole i enjoyed upstart crow. he allus shoves bits of schmaltz in there... even with the young ones when the guys were flung off a cliff on the bus i was somewhat upset...

It's kind of like a pumpkin. Once when I was in Year 7 we had to draw sketches of various gourds; our art teacher named the exercise: "Oh My Gourd!"

@@ridethelapras gourds? we had footwear to draw. i drew a monkey boot (as they were called)... the title of that exercise being: we couldn't think of owt witty, draw yer shoe. allegedly al my primitive formative year art works lies somewhere in a dank hole guarded by nubile lasses... somewhere.

@@JJONNYREPP ‘Gourded’ by nubile lasses, perhaps? (Also, the Book of Jonah chapter 4 in the King James Version mentions gourds, that oughta get you excited.)
