If you get paid by weight if you can skip the passenger seat only use one fuel tank see if you can find aluminum wheels for the inside anything to lighten up the truck

Blow by is normal. Them old S60 always start good. Don't run it out of fuel. It will not restart with out putting air to the tank to push fuel up to head or use starting fluid. So keep a can in truck with you.

You can get the new door hinges and all new rubber around the doors and windows and we put all new stainless steel bolts and screws in and that done away with the doors and windows not shutting good. I bet you will drop 5000 pounds off your empty weight the Fld is generally a very lightweight truck,I think you made a very wise decision it's not a show truck but it is a moneymaker. For vibration if the driveline and u joints are good make sure you check the ride height if it has air ride, and it may just be a tire out of balance. I like it those old Fld's are good trucks and that 12.7 is a great engine that will work great for the cement haul.

The oil pam always leaks little bit other if is real Detroit always should have a little blowby and when you are ready to get a new turbo get the borgwarner 171702 best turbo so far that’s my opinion.

Those 60 series are reliable. I drove a Columbia with a 60 series 10 speed glider kit (wish it was a 13 speed). Had blowby and had put additives every 2 weeks per the owner. I was nervous about the blowby but learned they can still run with it. There’s a fld mid roof near me in pristine condition going for 16k. Keys for freightliners should be easy to get made. I even have a way to get KW’s and Pete keys made that I learned from a Spanish guy I met in El Paso.

The FLD will do you good on the cement runs. I own a 2010 Western Star with an extended Big Cab I use to pull my Travel Trailer which is a Monster. My 2010 Has less than a Hundred Thousand Miles an APU and it is rebuilt due to a fire in the rear. Had to put two full axles and all the hardware from the cab back. I found a wrecked one and used the rears. It looks perfect and Western Star said it was a good repair. Rear cab panel only had less than 800 bucks damage. Frame was ok and wiring was minimal. I have had it about 8 years now and it is Black and Beautiful. I bet I have less than 20g on the truck for repairs using used parts, and the Truck was 8g from the Insurance company. I have been offered 59g lately and no way. Zero Problems. It has a 10 speed. I use Slick 50 in my engine and rears it kills any wear. It has a rebuilt title. It is equipment who cares. I think tires cost more than the truck lol. I got lucky when I bought it.

Hi mate, you really can't go wrong. A FLD with a Detroit Series 60, what a great combination. Good buy Justin, God Bless.

Justin I have not ever seen or driven a Detroit that hasn't leaked a little oil they all did just got to mind the steady flow from seals or gaskets but every one I drove leaked a little! The vibration could be the tires if they don't match it could cause that!
