I happened to come into contact with many elders that were experiencing these issues. I worked in a grocery store, who every Tuesday would have a Dementia center bus about 15 men and women, and let them walk around and do some shopping, and we always helped them with their lists. I enjoyed doing this, as it helped in understanding how these people thought or processed these tasks. These lovely men and women were always so thankful for our help, and our interaction with them. Fast forward several years later, I have a loved one, who has had many brain tumors since she was 14, and is now 30, She is in a home with Dementia patients, where she cannot escape, and I again get to see many people with this awful disease. Don't forget your loved ones, just because they have it. Keep being in their lives. They are still the people you loved, and who loved you at one time. It is very sad to see these people die a lonely death, without interaction from those they knew for so long.

She has a picture of me (when I was 2) and my grandpa (her son). Apparently she talks to my photo and thinks that it’s alive. The tells my grandpa “I spoke to Bella today 😊” when really she spoke to my picture. She yelled at my great aunt, to tell my grandfather to change my clothes, as she only sees me in that photo, in which my clothes stay the same. Im taking a 13 hour drive to visit her next weekend with my parents. Im terrified. Im pretty sure she won’t be able to comprehend that im the child in the photo and that im no longer two years old.
