The rise of AI is revolutionizing the way we work and live. In just a few short years, artificial intelligence (AI) has become increasingly intertwined in our everyday lives, from the way we shop to the way we interact with customer service. But the implications of this are far reaching, because AI is now taking over jobs that were previously done by people.
AI is quickly taking over low-skill jobs, such as those in manufacturing, agriculture, and transportation, as well as clerical jobs like bookkeeping and data entry. AI systems can now process information faster and more accurately than humans, and this means they are often better suited to repetitive or low-skilled tasks. In addition, AI can be used to automate entire processes, replacing entire teams of people with one AI system. This has the potential to reduce costs, increase efficiency, and even create new opportunities.
At the same time, AI is also encroaching on higher-skilled jobs, like management and financial analysis. AI can rapidly analyze complex datasets, spot trends, and suggest solutions that human managers would take hours or even days to identify. AI can also predict customer behavior, provide automated customer service, and even troubleshoot technology issues.

The main point is. Even if current jobs will be replaced by AI and robots, it doesn't mean their will be no jobs left. Only the types of jobs will be changed. For example before cars there were horses and carts used for transportation. It got replaced but new jobs such as car mechanic, etc emerged. Similarly new jobs will be there for us. Just need to skill ourselves accordingly. If there is no job, people will be moneyless. If people are moneyless then there won't be a customer to buy stuff. In the end business won't work which are using ai and robots as there won't be people to buy their products. For markets to survive money flow is needed and this means people will still earn. Only the way of earning will change.

That Ironic because I think you don't understand it, if you look historically it is quite possible for power and resources to become highly consolidated in the hands of a few. With robots and AI - even this dystopian future is possible where a few rich people are kept protected by their army of robots while the majority population is just given what they need to sustain themselves. Though that is unlikely, it's very possible companies or the government might start granting free resources, money, low value high volume jobs or unnecessary jobs just to keep people productive, but these jobs may not have a lot of growth and less scope for social mobility without the knowledge of technology. It's a bad world because even though nobody is poor or hungry, there would be huge inequality and disparate income and wealth distribution. Educate yourself before commenting naively about other people being ignorant.

Another fear i have is how ai will affect countries, if all the actual algorithms and neural networks making these ai tick is in usa or china then they might get a major advantage or even completely dominate world trade.

@BBT Absolutely agreed that everyone has to adapt to the change, but "eliminate the weak" that's brutal, and rather why not decrease the speed of progress because many of them don't have the access to the resources we have, that does not mean they do not have right to live.

the problem is we are thinking from the west's perspective. they are already quite developed and surely ai and self driving will completely shut down their gig economy. but in India, it will take a really long time to disrupt that. additionally, efforts need to be taken by corporate giants and government also to educate the ones who do manual physical work about automation systems.

As technology advances, new job opportunities also open up. Think of a time when no technology existed, and compare it to to today's world, we've created insane stuff which have eased human work. As the world grows with technology, we push barriers which open new pavements for humans too. Yes AI will take jobs but AI is not the only new advancement happening over time, other things might open with which provides employment to humans.

Coding is a part of swe but there are other important crucial facets to it especially soft skills like communication, empathy business acumen etc.. In the future this field will evolve where in people will not necessarily learn one framework , language, tech stack after other but will have to increasingly understand architecture, interaction between hardware and software components, security, networking , backend, debugging and maintenance, iot .. The focus will shift from just learning new tech to actually solving problem statements using whatever tech stack is the most optimal.. There will also be a need for people who have experience in shipping end to end products since it's much easier to publish now then ever before..

Well, you already missed his point. He never said that AI will completely render humans jobless, he just explained that the output in terms of work a single employed human will be able to generate will be so high that companies, or for that matter everyone who employed people in some shape and form will have to cut down on employee cause there won’t be a need for so many of them. In swe context, that changes to less people getting hired for development and production compared to pre AI.

1:25 that's what I thought of that jobs of video editors and Graphics designers will not vanishe it's just the fact that job of people who just copy paste things and say this is design will vanish off. Ai will design better than them as they can only take limited no. Of inspiration but ai can take last 50 years of data in 1 go. And the people who have a certain high level of understanding of graphics designing and video editing will always be there and the base skill will touch another level. Like when rotoscoping feature wasn't there people who can do it earned a lot but soon when it's developed it made a bit easy to do it so base line of editing form just joining clips increase to storytelling and animations. You just have to outperform others to win the race or run in the race

Here's chatGPT reply about the creativity : P Creativity is the ability to generate new and original ideas or concepts, or to express ideas in a novel or original way. While AI systems are capable of generating novel outputs based on the data they have been trained on, they do not have the ability to truly generate new ideas or concepts in the same way that humans do. One of the key differences between human creativity and AI-generated outputs is that human creativity is often driven by emotions, experiences, and personal perspectives, while AI-generated outputs are based solely on the data and algorithms used to train the AI system. As a result, AI-generated outputs may be novel and unexpected, but they are not truly creative in the same sense that human-generated ideas are. Another key difference is that human creativity often involves a process of trial and error, experimentation, and iteration, while AI systems typically generate outputs based on a pre-determined set of rules and algorithms. This means that human creativity is often more flexible and adaptable than AI-generated outputs, which are limited by the data and algorithms they are trained on. Overall, while AI systems are capable of generating novel outputs, they do not have the same level of creativity and originality as human beings. AI systems may be able to assist humans in the creative process, but they are not yet capable of fully replacing human creativity. Stressing on the "Yet"

Recently I got a thought what made human think and react and why Ai can't be like humans(Ai is just a calculator Even now), it led me to the answer : feelings. Example:fear is the reason that you build weapons(we just stand still like plants),pain is the reason that u take care of yourself , attachment is the reason that u protect others, lazyness is the reason that now world is dumb, lust is the reason that people populating, selfishness is the reason that we own anything (my gf,my home,my family,my kids future,my money ,not my problem, i dnt give a dmn abt em,etc) There is a purpose for all life(insect eat food and populate),(humans have a purpose to survive and develop, but the way humans approaching to their purpose is chaotic ,there is s saying in spiderman anime when i was in middle teens great power gives great responsibility, but humans were never responsible enough for the planet considering the power they have ) Coming back to the track. ------------------ But Ai at current stage will only get its purpose from the humans(i mean humans need to give it),if u observe right, it's just that simple thing called purpose that led to us to 2022 .
