You know, I still struggle with bends! For some reason I find getting the "A" to sound right on the 3rd hole, on a C harmonica, so difficult! I'm sharing this on my community page by the way! Thanks Liam!
I still cannot do it consistently but your lessons have been great.
Thanks as always Liam. I've mentioned before that your lesson on how to bend got me bending when I was only a month into learning. 6 months in now and I have the 1 , both 2's, all 3's , 4 and an occasional 6. Some aren't great but they are there. Cheers buddy for opening the door to the Blues ! Tony

Hi Liam, I’m one of those U- block players, I’ be gone through 2 Special 20s in about a year. Started during COVID. I switch to a Lee Oskar so I can replace the reeds but maybe switch back when I learn to play softer. Love the vids Thx Stephen

Best of luck, Stephen!
My bends are okay with the exeption of the 10 blow bends. They still give me a hard time. Cheers, Liam! :)

The 10 blow bend on higher keyed harps can be quite challenging.
Thanks for the video. I love your channel. I often forgot to check if you have a new video because the bell doesn't work on your channel. KZread tells me that this channel makes videos for children and bell doesn't work on those kinds of youtube channels.

Oh I didn't know that, thanks for letting me know Adrian. I've done a few lessons for kids so maybe that's why. How annoying!
Just curious mate, have you found any particular "Key" of Harp is more susceptible to damage than others. eg: a high A vs. a low G? (I been away for a few months where there is no internet, just got back 'n' happy to see your still having fun,.. take care)

Hey mate, I haven't really found a pattern when it comes to keys. Have you? Interested to hear other people's opinions too....

@@Learntheharmonica My first break happened on my "A" harp on the No. 10 draw note. My fault, I killed it pretty quick. But my G Blues harp is as tough as nails. If that makes sense.
Ha ! I probably wouldn't notice if it went out of tune 😉
I’ve only been playing my new harmonica for a month, and there are multiple notes that won’t play at all (ie 4 draw) - just air sound. Did I break it that fast or should I return it?! I was so bummed, as I was just getting into it, but don’t want to buy another just to break it in another month!
When I do overblows, from time to time, there is this really shrill sound, almost like a feedback sound of mics. Sometimes, there are even cluttering between the blow and draw reed. I don't know, but my guess is that this is really harmful to the harmonica. Is there any way to practice overblows without harming the harmonica so much? Another strange thing I notice is that sometimes I can get an overblow, but there are other times I get the shrill sound with the same technique. Would you be so nice as to explain why this happens? Thanks

Hi Jiang Kuailv, do you do anything to your harmonica to 'set them up' for overblows or do you play them out of the box? Cheers. Liam

@@Learntheharmonica I did adjust the blow reed a little (made the gap smaller) because I heard this would help get rid of the shrill noise. It helped a bit but did not solve the problem.
Is it the harmonica that makes your mouth leans

Billy Idol is rich and famous(same shaped mouth), doesn't play the Harmonica. But shows it doesn't matter as long as your good, RIGHT!
I learned about the bends when scuba diving, and learned how to avoid them. 🤔

Love that.
How can I recognize if I already broke mine while trying to bend?

The sound of the note will change. You can check with a tuner to see if it's still in tune. (Just google "online chromatic tuner")

I don't think he's playing too hard, it might just look that way and also he's playing Seydels which have stainless steel reeds, they are about 5 times more durable than any other with brass reeds
