I'm sure you won't see this comment, but I always felt that if Bear had the same conditioning, training etc that Jam & Dee got, she would excel to the level they have, if not even more. You did the calming route with Jam & that could very well help Bear too. You are also more experienced. Even if it's not this year, I hope you try that conditioning/mental work with her in the future. Time, patience & effort can make all the difference in the world. I had an Arabian everyone told me was like Bear. Let's use "challenging" to describe him. But he turned out to be the best horse I ever owned. My best to you in all your endeavors and I really enjoy all your videos 😊

Not necessarily. Horses are individuals. Some horses just don't like certain situations.

Also - just nosied at Bear’s BE record and she has 3 sub-20 dressage scores in 12 starts. That’s pretty darn impressive! If Brego inherits Bear’s jump and both parent’s dressage there’ll be no stopping him. Fingers crossed he makes 15.2hh!

I hope you can always keep Bear - it’s so clear that you adore her. Can’t wait equally for some Bear jumping action and also a Ron baby because Brego is an absolute stunner and I think a Bear/Ron baby will also be brilliant!

Given that Bear's genes have a say as well, there is nothing to say that Brego won't be a good jumper in addition to good in the dressage--which can only help in eventing! 🙂

Such a smart decision about Brego to keep him until you know what he excels at he’s definitely very special ! Also awesome plan for bear so exciting ! A little riding again because she’s amazing and another foal because she’s also amazing in that department !

I'm new here so thanks for the pictures of Bear jumping! If she passes on those springy legs, you could have some lovely active foals to develop for Dressage or Eventing. As someone who always preferred riding smaller mares, usually part-Arab, because they were bright and fun to ride as well as physically strong, I don't believe that to have a good horse you must necessarily have one that's very tall!

Other than hairdressing?! No, I think he has the best taste in hairdressing ever. He has a real eye for the craft.

Can't wait to see you up on Bear for the first time. And Id love to see Bear do an 80 or some dressage competitions! I do think it's true what they say about mares mellowing out after having a foal. Many years ago I had a very sassy grey Welsh mare who I got as a 9yo. She settled down A LOT after having a foal and she went on to make a great kids pony. Good luck and we can't wait for the upcoming Bear content. She is still the darling of the fans :)

Good! As I'm sure you know, lots of walking for the first month or more. As plump as she is, would you consider ponying her on some walks before Brego is weaned? No weight on her back, no pressure. OTOH some horses *hate* being ponied.

Awww I used to have a pony called bear( I didn’t ride her much as she is a miniature shetland) and she had a foal this year too! Sadly we are probably not getting her back but i get to visit her from time to time! Your videos are so good and entertaining! ❤❤❤
