When said by Piggy March, 'ride one of mine' is a huge compliment. Well deserved too. Edited to add that seeing Nicola Wilson able to stand and walk is incredibly moving. Nicola is one of my heroes. I remember the days of Opposition Buzz and feel happy, so very, very happy to see Nicola progressing well with her recovery.

Gotten you used to a horse stride, while still being small enough to not being intimidating for you. So when you sat on him, yes he was tall, but you handled the stride very well. I honestly NEVER want to hear you say you don't know how to ride again, Meg. I mean, just don't do it!! You rode, at a moment's notice, a BIG horse who, while clearly beautifully trained and lovely, was not an easy ride, AND while being instructed by an international level rider, AND you did it in front of an arena full of strangers, AND you did it with sensitivity and real talent. Literally on cloud nine!!

That was lovely..."just getting on with it" works in so many difficult situations (not that you didn't know that already.) Definitely riding unfamiliar horses in Ireland, and having Wilma to work with, seems to be expanding your confidence. When Jam's back in work, you may find her abilities are a little different than you remember (she may feel different to herself, too.) All bodes well for long-term *increasing* success. Oh, and happy birthday a day late. Two? days late.

What a way to prepare you for Wilma. Excellent effortless flying changes well done. What a great birthday present. Just goes to show when you give and share so much the return is two fold. Just goes to show how much your riding is improving with each of these outings.

Wow Meg! To think back to the start of the year at Lucinda’s and now there you are riding an unknown horse in front of hundreds of people brilliantly! What a turnaround - well done you and thank you for being so transparent Xx

Brownie reminds me so much of my 20 year old boy - same colouring, same love of flyers, same lack of brakes on landing, same enthusiasm for life. I adore the older chaps, they have so much to give and people often write them off far too early. Mine hunts in the winter and shows in the summer and he just adores his job.

The progress you have had over the past 18-24 months has been phenomenal! Two years ago there would have been more than one circle, but now you showed that you trust yourself to use your half-halts properly, and that you can do anything you set your mind to!

Meg, you were absolutely MAG! In all the time I have been watching, this is the first time that you have seemed relaxed and capable of showing off your horses best qualities... It really looked like you had been riding him for ages and not the very first time on his back. I hope that you are feeling very happy about how very well you managed the entire evening and all of the demands it placed upon you. A really top notch job. Very well done even if you are a year older!!! 😄!
