Everyone has different time zones and lives to deal with, so no one can just jump on their Computer, Laptop, IPad, Cellphone or whatever device and look at their favorite channels for new vids at any/ every hour… We got lives! Work, house work, eating, sleeping, shopping… We focus on needs first and entertainment in our free time.. Prof MIGHT end up right but within the time span of only a few minutes of the first hour it was up- WAY too soon to speak.. 😅

The AC wiki article for Shao Jun has like 10 paragraphs regarding all the inconsistencies with her name.

I love when you do long video pack openings while you talk about a topic, like when you talked about planes while opening innistrad, wish you would do more of those!

I can't wait for the Professor's opinion on value boosters to be a video. The product with so much value, Wizards wouldn't even announce the price! They're probably going to be $3.99 for 7 cards, for a chance at not getting a rare! WOW! GREAT VALUE.

People can point at Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokemon all they want, but there are two huge differences with those products. 1: Pokemon 3 card boosters are $1 and only sold at smaller box stores like dollar general/tree/etc. 2: Speed Duel is its own format with much much smaller decks than both magic, or Yu-Gi-Oh proper. They usually only add up to be 20 cards. This is just a way for wizards to sell even more bulk, further driving the prices of singles down to below the average 10-15 cents they go for now. If they made packs like this aimed at Pauper Players, that might be the best way to actually get community interest behind them. Just say a mishmash of 10 cards, 9 common, 1 uncommon creature from the last three sets for $3. If Pauper takes off, prices on those cards go up a little due to pauper having an interest, etc. doesn't tank the value of commons like value boosters will guaranteedly do. I'd be more interested in that than any other tiny booster product they're doing currently.

@@OrcaIguana at least the $1/3 cards is dividable into the typical $5/15 card booster pack, so the pricing makes sense. I know you don't get the guaranteed rare, but I bet the per card pricing of value boosters will be higher than a regular booster pack. I will be shocked if it's equal to at the very least. Edit: Honestly if it was $1 for 3 cards (If there was guaranteed no lands) I'd be all over that. That creates some insane draft potential after a few sets. Going from 3 boosters to 9 where the pulls could literally be anything sounds like an interesting thing to do once or twice.

I like that they stuck to the themes of AC for this set, like The hidden ones because the value is sure hidden here!

Assassin's Creed is a perfect franchise for MTG to give a set. Ubisoft and WotC are both amazing companies who definitely care about their employees and have never fired hundreds of people around Christmas pretty much annually to make the company look more profitable on Q4 earnings calls. Ubisoft in particular are such great allies to their trans employees too. I love how they've never systematically bullied or manufactured performance issues to push out a trans employee, black listing them, and ruin their chances of obtaining unemployment in the process. Just 2 wonderful small businesses getting together to make a reasonably priced, worthwhile product for this entirely relevant franchise. You love to see it.

It's pretty sad when one card (Sword of Feast and Famine) covers 20% of a total box price but the remaining 23.8 packs can't cover the other 80%. I typically buy booster boxes because I want enough cards from a set that I end up getting most of what I wanted, but I knew this set was one that didn't interest me enough to justify it. I took the recommended route of buying singles, and I got the four cards I wanted from this set for a little over $10. (Much better than paying $40 for a single copy of Cover of Darkness before the reprint.)

I skipped ahead...but only because this is a box opening video without the Prof ranting and raving during the process which I'd listen to every time.

Speaking of new stuff, Bloomburrow will have "Value boosters" with 7 cards a pack where 5 are uncommon and common. 1 is a wild card rarity so probably uncommon or common most times and 1 land or traditional foil or "guest" card

Imagine buying one of these boxes at your local shop and not even getting a sword of feast and famine. Pure disappointment would envelope my very soul. Once again prof, you’ve convinced me to just big singles. Best advice I’ve ever received. Looking forward bloomburrow. Keep up the good work!

I did buy a box but thankfully I got an ezio, black market connections, and a showcase sword. Didn't get my money back but I'm an Altair away from everything I want from this set.

This set supplied me with so many new cards! As soon as the set dropped, all seven singles were in my checkout from my local game stores online store. $30 later and I'm never looking at this set ever again.

I like the lands.... that is about it. guess i'll be able to get them cheap in single probably.

This is made so much worse by the modern horizons 3 packs where every time I open one I find a card that I want to go put into one of my decks and then get excited to play a game with it

​@datenschutzification a new type of booster pack (as far as I know they're only going to big box stores like Walmart and target) that only have 7 cards. With 3 commons 2 uncommons a "wild card" of any rarity, and then a full art land. Yes it's just as bullshit as it sounds. It's the chaff of a draft pack without the ability to be drafted.

I stopped playing long ago (War of the spark, but I did go to prerelease for Neon). This is how much I enjoy your content. I’m viewing this video.

Prof I'll always watch your booster box opening vids. But dam it is tough watching openings of sets like this.

Don't forget that product fatigue is really hitting for many people. This is overwhelming at this point for normal folks. I always wonder why MTG + WOTC focuses on diversity and equity when they forget the most damning one of all: financially accessibility and diversity.

The greedy financial practices of corporations have nothing to do with diversity or equity and inclusion. Wizards and hasbro will keep making product as expensive as they can to maximize profit, and won't stop if the profits are still going up.

I know this is not a set that you have enjoyed, but the the Assassin's Creed community it has been a blast sharing pulls and having conversations about the game. A lot of new people will get into Magic because of this and I appreciate that fact and what WotC and Ubisoft have done to release a fun set for the community. While it may not be a set that the general Magic community may enjoy, there is an audience who is loving it.

Truth be told this set should have gone the way the warhammer 40k and fallout sets did. Commander deck with a collector booster box. That way the cards may have accurately held value.

@@wraithflaire1639Eh you could maybe stretch for 4 if you included hermeticists and instruments of the first will as their own factions but at that point you are really getting into the weeds and you need a lot more historical characters to flesh it all out.

Love your videos, thank you doing these. I absolutely love this set. But I'm also a fan of the video game lore.

I was able to preorder a box for $109 out the door. I figured I'd get enough cards to make a fun Ezio Auditore da Firenze assassin's commander deck. Nope. Didn't pull Ezio Auditore da Firenze, Brotherhood Regalia, Achilles Davenport, or even haystack! I had to go buy them all :/

The regular Brotherhood Regalia is like $7 now. Foil is $8.

I got a cracked box with a value of 170 with all the rares Eizo show case, edward, sword of feast, basmin show case and regular, 2 black market connection. And other stuff. I thought I broke even until edward and basmin shot up in price.

I do like cracking open booster boxes, when I have the disposable income for it. And that's only because I like opening the cards up not because I'm trying to find some monetary gain out of it. But for universes beyond sets like assassin's Creed, I'll just buy the commander decks and any single that catch my eye.

I really enjoyed my pack opening experience and feel like I got very lucky with it. I got a bundle, booster box, and collectors box, and got almost every card in the set. I missed a couple ones I was after (Edward the biggest), but I got a foil etched Ezio Auditore, showcase foil Altair, a borderless Sword of F&F, and lots of high value versions of other cards. I got almost all the cards I wanted for the Assassins Creed assassin tribal historic commander deck I was scheming, just need to order some lands to fill it out. I definitely spent more on it than I could have buying early, but I am otherwise pleased!

I like the booster box game, but I personally prefer the ones where we hear you talk while you’re opening the packs and guessing the price

I opened a collector box today and pulled a numeric card 🙃 also love tolarian community helped me and my friends learn alot and helped me get better at this game.

Missed a Brotherhood Regalia toward the end!

The interesting thing is that all 3 boxes were pretty consistent, meaning that if they drop to the $80-85 range, they might be a good pick up to open.

I bought one box and pulled a showcase foil Basim, two Swords of Feast and Famine (one borderless), two Cover of Darkness, a Black Market Connection, and a borderless Ezio so I feel like I got my money’s worth. I’m working on building 4 commanders from this set, so I’m super excited with my pulls!

Hey prof! Just wanted to say that i love assassins creed and magic and that if no one else will watch at least i will!

This episode would make a fun drinking game. Take a shot every time Prof gets whatever legendary uncommon you the view pick. I guarantee you will be drunk before box 2.

Got lucky on stream last night opened one pack of Assassins Creed Play Booster and pulled the Ezio full art. First pack in months that I got a card over 5$.
