That galaxy on the back totally fits in with the goth look! Not too much color and has ties to the night, also gives an ethereal, magical flair, like it’s a cloak of stars trailing in your wake!

It’s a great look! We need more goth men’s styling videos out there in general.

As someone who loves dressing "classy formal goth" (the rare times I dress up), you've absolutely nailed this look. Also, the galaxy print on the back of the vest is fine- gives you a pop of vivid color without being the front-facing version of "you", it adds a flavor of "subverting the stereotype" that is also goth af.

Yep, that cements it. Bring back the vest as a wardrobe basic for both men and women. In the 90s, my favorite vest was pinstriped, and it looked so good with jeans.

Vests/waistcoats are where it's at!!! They don't work well on MY body type (I have an extremely large bust, so a properly fitted corset provides better support) but my husband is totally in to looking dapper and happy to let me dress him, so waistcoats/vests are a must!!

I can't say for certain this would help at all as personally I'm a member of the ibtc lol (but with a disproportionately large ribcage so I still have issues with stuff fitting my chest but with none of the fun 😹) but I figure there's enough chance it could help that I may as well mention it so maybe you can enjoy the dapper vest look too 💖 there's few things more satisfying than finding a way to make a look you love actually work for your body!

As a goth, I can say that the galaxy is, in fact, very goth, it's also metal. And that tie was the perfect choice, blood tone red brocade is beautiful. I would love to see you do pastel goth or rainbow goth as well, since this was so well executed. Oh wow, hello accidental culture war in the replies! I'm not generally here to stoke fires, but I feel the need for immolation. The galaxy is VERY GOTH, and metal. If you look at a galaxy print and see a meme, you are missing out on some serious wonder, my dude. Black holes, star nurseries, nebulae, double binary systems, asteroids, billions of miles of darkness, and unknown. How much more goth can you get than exploding stars and spaghettification? Goth is an attitude that picks up the outcasts, goth is not defined by what you wear, be it black, red, green, rainbows or pastels, and being exclusionary isn't part of the goth attitude, babes, that's baby goth thinking.

Although it might be true that galaxy print can be goth, I think the fact that it was SOOO popular in the early 2010s just makes it look passé and funny. Now I usually don’t care about trends and I think anyone should wear any style any year, galaxy print is just one of those things that makes me laugh / cringe about our past fashion trends. Early 2010s style has some funny ones.

Tip from an alt dude: That look is fantastic and I adore it, but for those who really want to commit to the goth style, any dark gem-tone cravat, ascot, or puff tie with a subtle pattern would also be STUNNING. Red is most common and purple is to die for, but blues and greens can work if they're very dark. 👍✨ (Also I'd probably go with a different set of shoes, but thats just a personal thing. The outfit really is amazing.)

I think you can just never go wrong with plain black leather brogues, preferably lace up boots to give that extra Victorian nostalgia. (The two-tone felt more jazzy.) But my philosophy when it comes to my own corp gothness is to shop mainstream basics (I'm lazy lol) and style it until the combination is giving "give me a raise before I hex you". Very true with the dark jewel tone accents though! 🖤

You could go to a vampire or gothic themed ball or a party. Those things are being held at some places. Also you could go to a gothic festival.
