No they didn't, they were probably in another area. This particular area is too shallow for crocs.

Wildebeest aka Gnu, crossing rivers, experience the same fear, anxiety, indecisiveness, hope, panic, etc regardless if there are any crocodiles or not. Lol Tradition has it that the spare parts left over after the completion of the Creation were used by the Creator to make the Gnu.

It’s the great migration, they follow the rain for fresh pastures to graze on. If they don’t cross the river, they starve.
