I road it yesterday. Definitely a lot smoother than I remember in 2006 at my class trip. Definetly smoother and a tiny bit faster too

I'm really interested in seeing a review of this ride now with the new pre-cut track 😅

I’ve been side-by-siding this with an older POV and the reprofile is fairly significant, the turns now mostly happen in between the hills instead of happening during the actual downhill, and they’re more banked. They also removed the banking leading into the second turnaround.

They definitely adjusted the banking more than anticipated.

Now all the topper track needs is to be re-painted with Black and Orange kinda similar to Great American Scream Machine at Six Flags Over Georgia when the topper track is repainted in red and blue.

They plan to repaint this in the future. They couldn't before the season since the wood was new.

@@CanobieCoaster most classic coasters are painted, red, white, and blue; the same colors found on the American Flag but when that time ever comes for Wildcat they should painted it in orange, white, and black.

I love wild cat. It's one of my favorite rides, and I'm going to lake compounds on June 15th. And I'm so excited to go on it! And if the best rollercoaster channel ever, you deserve a million subs or more. I've learned so much about roller coasters and theme parks because of you. Thank you.

It's better than ever.

I was just at Lake Compounce today and rode Wildcat. The Gravity Group track gave the coaster an extra kick and smoothness, but the last 2 air time drops were very rough on my back. Hopefully next offseason Lake Compounce and the Gravity Group will address those sections. The seats were comfortable too

It also had been retracked before, for example, see the 2017 retrack. What was your favorite part of the ride with that?

Coaster Express is my least favorite wood coaster again. There are some worse steel coasters.

It kind of makes me wonder why they didn't have Gravity Group retrack this in the first place. Although, I was already wondering why they had GCI replace the old trains with Millennium Flyers but not retrack it as well.

GCI usually does a good job.

Even the lift hill is rough, JFC this coaster needed the Titan Track not Boulder Dash….. that being said, the parts with the new track *chef’s kiss* perfect

This is running well with the new track.

I feel as though this may become an alternative to RMCs for parks in the future. This seems especially good for more classic woodies that probably shouldn't be RMC'd. I also think re-profiling/trackwork like this would improve woodies with squandered layout potential.

If I were a park owner, I’d hold off and see how the vertical track rides in a few years. I’ve seen too many retrackings that seem awesome at first, then go all to hell.

Everything until the end is smooth now. The end is bumpy, but the train is going slow at that point so it's more comical than painful.

On video it looks kinda bumpy still but it doesn't look as bad as Hades 360 does at Wisconsin Dells. If you look at videos of it you can see a big sign that says this ride is running very aggressive today. I guessing that if you have a bad back you shouldn't ride Hades 360 at all.

It's going slow at that point, so it doesn't hurt. The first 3/4 are now smooth and running better than ever.

They couldn't since they were recently fabricated. They will in the future.

The profiling on the new track looks nuts, pretty unconventional for a coaster built in in the 1920s. But imo that’s not a bad thing.

That's a Coney Island (Cincinati) Wildcat. Both were designed by Herbert Paul Schmeck around the same time.

Similar but different.

Just my opinion...but I always found the desire to preserve the dynamic profile of coasters labeled as "classic" to be overrated. With recent technological advancements with track and centerline designs it's a certain guarantee that a ride experience will be improved with combo retrack/reprofiles like this. Sure...I wouldn't want to do this to a ride like the Phoenix...but I would only consider a handful to be untouchable
