Wildcat Mountain - Polecat (Top to Bottom Run)

Спорт

Polecat (Upper, Middle, and Lower) is a beginner ski trail located at Wildcat Mountain. The trail runs from the summit of the ski area to the base area. At over 2 miles long, Polecat is the longest beginner ski trail in New Hampshire! The trail starts off to the left when coming off of the Wildcat Express Quad chairlift. The trail starts off with a little section of flats before widening out and starting downhill. Upper and Middle Polecat mostly consist of narrow turns followed by more gradual, wide-open areas. There are also some pretty difficult sections for a beginner trail on Upper and Middle Polecat, meaning that the trial would probably be an easier blue at many other ski areas, so just be careful. Lower Polecat is much easier. The lower portion of the trail is not steep or windy at all, it pretty much just runs straight back to the base area.
Wildcat Mountain Resort is a ski area located in Pinkham's Grant, New Hampshire, located in between the towns of Jackson and Gorham. The mountain is known for being located directly across from Mount Washington, the tallest mountain in the Northeastern US, providing amazing views. The ski area is also known for its long groomers and plentiful ungroomed and steep trails. With just over 2,000 feet of vertical, Wildcat is the second tallest ski area in New Hampshire after Cannon. Even though the ski area is located right in the heart of the White Mountain Nation Forest, it is still extremely accessible, being located right off of NH Route 16. During the summer of 2019, the ski area was purchased by Vail Resorts from Peak Resorts, which resulted in Wildcat joining the Epic Pass. The ski area is sister resorts with Attitash, which is located just 20 min down the road. Both ski areas share the same tickets, so one can ski both ski areas on the same day (currently not the case due to COVID). In the summer, Wildcat is home to disc golf, a zip-line, and scenic gondola rides.

Another great video - thanks for posting. While the runs weren't crowded the lines seemed bad.

Wait so you can’t ski at two mountains on the same day due to Covid? Or is that changing this season?

Those views at Wildcat are pretty awesome. But if I went right off the lift, would it be too difficult? Are their blue runs like black runs at other mountains? Do they groom?

They do groom many of their blue runs but they are definitely on the more difficult side of blues but not the absolute hardest

I'm sure I could handle Polecat. That looks like a greenish-blue trail. I hope I could at least do the other blue runs at Wildcat. They're like dark blue runs, I'm assuming. The views are awesome, but I remain undecided about Attitash and Wildcat.
