*Yes we are using "cute" and "pretty" to describe the horses sometimes... and yes we are all trainers... this video was not meant to go in-depth and tear apart every single horses conformation and temperament... it was laid back just showing the cool facility and awesome mustangs. Sometimes less detail is more, and it leaves room for you to make your own judgement on the horse. Relax people, it's a fun video for anyone who wants to see what a holding facility is like and how the sorting is done :)

I am planning to adopt a mustang soon! I am working on a plan for my training so i know exactly how i’m going to do it. :)
Thank you. Theres so many mustangs out there, little people buying them. Great video as always ❤
The palamino!!! love it! Just realized that getting one one of these little guys would be a great training option too! Lots of loving on before we ever get to saddling and riding! Whole new thought process to getting a mustang! Love these little guys!!
I think the bay at the camera choose YOU!! :)

That’s exactly what I was thinking!
I love how mustangs always grow the fuzziest winter coats ever! Mine definitely does
I would choose the one to adopt by doing that. Walk into the pen and let the right one choose me. It shows the right combination of more curiosity and less fear.

Cloud's herd is in the Pryor Range in Montana/Wyoming & many of his family members are rounded up & removed. He was an official ambassador animal & was rounded up all the time but always released. He has not been seen since 2016 & is presumed dead
Sam, you are such an inspiration to me. You’ve e made me decide to get a mustang this next fall!

@MrPerfect1986 I understand your concern and thank you! It’s good that you’re raising awareness about how hard it actually it. Even though it will be my first time, I’ve been working with horses for 10 years. I’ve read hours of videos, documentaries, read books, magazines, and articles about gentling a mustang. I will even get professional help if need be. I’m going to do a private adopting so I can choose a horse that feels calm enough for me to start with. Thank you for your concern! I’ve got it figured out :)

The ones coming to you would be the perfect ones to adopt. They're already showing signs of curiosity about what you are. Getting them to buddy up with you would help get them to trust you the quickest. That would help put you ahead in training.

Also love all the mustangs that came out and actually thought about it! That was super cool!
Absolutely amazing I could just imagine the smell and energy in the.. thanks for sharing your experience 👍☝️🙏
That one with the four white socks!!!! It was to die for!! I wish I could enter these challenges.
There are so many gorgeous horses there!
Already the intro clip was beautiful!
Very interesting, loved watching it!
Watching the collection and choices being made. I was thinking of all the energy and hours that will go into these young mustangs to save a living legacy.
O my life.. such a cutsies are walking out there ... ♡♡ 😎 What a experience to see the facilities and the way this works! And most importantly, yet more Mustangs are saved and get a chance 😎

That’s the closest facility to me and the second closest is Palomino Valley! I can’t believe I haven’t watched this video yet! Excited to watch! I may get to pick out my first mustang from there!
It makes sense that you and Amber know each other, but I don't think I realized it until a couple videos ago! I've been watching both of your channels for a while and just never noticed haha

Whoa so much more stuff than the HMAs in Oregon & Wyoming!
There was one with a crescent moon on its forhead I thought it was cute
this is so cool! Could you update the description on the TIP challenges. At the end of the video it said there was info in the desc. I would love to be a TIP trainer as I would prefer if I could choose my mustang. Thanks!

OMG!!! I'd soooo love to meet you. I'm in Phoenix, AZ. I'm wanting to adopt a wild Mustang. I have so many questions. I'd LOVE to sit down and get answers from you since you have hands on experience. I've owned many horses and I'm knowledgeable with what's involved with caring for them. However, it'll be my first go around with a wild Mustang. Do I need to wait for an Auction or can I go to a holding facility like this one a pick one?
@amechelb

I think it depends on the specific facility. You should go to the mustang website. They show where all of them are and the contact info so you can call and inquire at each for yourself.
Aww wonderful
im finally early :)
28:02 I want the black one
25:57 3 white marks quiet in the background... what a beauty
So now that covid had caused cancellations are you still doing the tip challenge? Also, are these all yearlings?
Sam, I would like to know how/why you pick the horse you want to train? (and of course, why you reject a particular horse). It is obviously more than cosmetic or size.. What are you looking for ?
Hi Sam, can you tell us, do you ever feel nervous such as when training Rue during her charging episodes? How do you deal with it if you do feel nervous sometimes? Thanks, love your channel x
@SamVanFleet

Hey! No, not usually. If I do feel nervous, I make sure I’m not working her or I end the session on a good note and then come back later. I’ve never felt way too nervous around her though!

@@SamVanFleet thanks for replying:) are you ever tempted to keep them? It must be so hard to let them go, inspiring work 💕🦄x
Have you ever been to the facility in Nebraska?
@SamVanFleet

No, that’s a long term holding facility and usually those are private or you need to plan with BLM on when you can go
Where those mustangs are, like where they are from and live rn?
You can just go to one and pick one out? With approval
How is the training going for your newest horse? We haven't had any updates in a while. Is that bad news?

I'm wondering, if you live in Canada, can you buy mustangs like these? Or do you have to live in the states?
@emilymullerthibault4321

Yes, as long as the mustang is labeled "sale authority". Instead of adopting, you buy the animal outright and there's no year-long waiting period.
@amechelb

Harmony Horsemanship does a bunch of mustang challenges and she is in Canada. The selection isn’t always as great because you can only adopt 3 strike mustangs but you know your helping ones that are on their last chance.
@Horseyast

@@amechelb thank you. The strikes needs a chance too. Is that 3 at a time, 3 per event or 3 per year?
@emilymullerthibault4321
4 жыл бұрын
@@Horseyast yep! You can still purchase them through the BLM, you are just slightly limited as to what you can pick from. 3 strike horses are $25, and the strikes dont mean that they aren't good horses! It just means that they were either passed up at 3 adoptions, older than 10 years old, or adopted and returned. (the BLM people will be able to tell you which) sometimes the whole facility will have an adoption day, and only a handful out of hundreds are rehomed. The rest get strikes put on their record. I've seen 2 year olds with 10+ strikes on them, due to no fault of their own!

Most of them yes, but because of the pandemic right now you have to call and make an appointment. Some facilities are on private property and need permission even when it's not a pandemic

Maybe they do, but so do a lot of animals around the planet. Seeing the adult horses coming up to the girls, I feel like is a huge testament to the enriching lives they can have when adopted and gentled. When you get people to stop building sprawling highways in every bit of open land, then we can talk about giving these beautiful creatures back their land.
