Its such a responsibility I feel I have to complete bluejays bring me their babies bcs I have a huge feeding station & i ask them if their mating & if so they could bring their babies to eat some snacks . I often times think about if they depend on me 😅

Fluffy and Falcor knew they could trust "Aunt Kook" with their little one while they went off to hunt. Family is so important, even if they don't share the same DNA!

Being chosen by another species to watch their babies is such an honor! I was once chosen by a feral cat play with her kittens and it was such a great feeling. 😊

Hope you got them help and left food, water, and shelter out every day. Food 2 or 3 times a day and a tiny flat bowl of water too for the kittens to reach as well.

My Grandparents have had generations and generations of these gorgeous birds coming to visit. It's SO sweet when they bring their young floofs along. My Grandfather has passed now, and my Grandma no longer lives at the farm. But my younger cousin has kept on with the tradition. They love coming for their minced meat every couple of days. We live in Perth. We have a pair of Frogmouths that live in a tree in our back yard. I feel so honoured when I sit outside at night and I see them land on the gate or the fence whilst they are hunting. And nothing thrills me more than when I see their offspring waiting for Mum and Dad to come and feed them. Blessed to be an Aussie. 🇦🇺

They don’t get fed daily, only when needed. They are wild birds and they hunt for their own food 🐥🙏🏻☀️

How can you be that cute? You can almost envy this woman for having experienced something like that. A wild bird gives its trust to a human...I think this is really something special.

I lived in Julatten, Nth Qld. Several kookaburras used to visit every morning along with their babies. I miss them so much after 22 years of living with them. They became very friendly. Beautuful creatures and very intelligent.

I have kookaburras in my backyard too and I love them. The noise they make doesn’t bother me at all. In fact it seems natural, like the noise belongs. And yes they are friendly. I know that I could feed them but I don’t want them to be dependant on me for food. They all look plump and healthy so I know they aren’t going hungry . Delightful creatures.

They are amazing! I don’t feed them daily, they just get fed if it’s boiling hot or if we have torrential rain. They hunt for themselves 🐥🌿☺️☀️

He's just adorable. I've raised a lot of baby birds. I use to have a big scrub jay, their large and clumsy. I found him as a baby, raised him and he use to make a dash for the screen door and dash inside the house to land on my glass animals and break so many of them. I told him he had to stay in a big cage in the house, but he could be free outside. He literally preferred the house. He was fed, and protected. He finally went to find a mate.

As a child, we sang a kookaburra song in grade school! I had forgotten, but this video of the adorable birds brought the lyrics right back: 🎵🎵🎵 Kookaburra sits on the old gum tree Merry merry king of the bush is he Laugh, Kookaburra, laugh, Kookaburra Gay your life must be.....

I have been visited by Kookas at times. They saw me feeding magpies, and being hungry, asked for some breakfast. I think they were released birds from carers in our area. They just opened their beaks wide and waited for you to drop the food in. They made their own way after that!

They're my favourite Aussie animal. Better than all your tough kangaroos and scratchy koalas. Only downside is living just up from the reserve where they entertain you with a dawn chorus on summer mornings from about 4.30am onwards. What a racket.

That’s beautiful.. I used to have a magpie family come visit me.. the mum and dad.. mum was always cautious.. then babies came too.. and they’d do the same, leave the baby sitting to me at times.. but couldn’t get close like the kookaburras here.. this was in suburbia, with cats in the area, so I had to be watchful.. the baby would stand on. The garden bed, one leg tucked up, and go to sleep.. so gorgeous and I was truly blessed too.. 🙏🏻❤️💖
