Great video. I love my Roman Szmal watercolors. They have the most amazing neutral colour palettes, unique pigments and shades. I just wish they came in tubes!!!
A new discovery for me is Roman Szmal Quinacridone Pink with the Green Raw Umber. It almost looks like Potters Pink
I like the Violet mix in the top row on the right + the green in the bottom row the best. Love your mixing videos and your Etsy store art is so cute!.
You have absolutely inspired me to get the aquarius black.
Nothing better than an evening when we can watch you swatch, I'm always so surprised (and inspired) what colors appear. Thanks for making this evening a real good one! Thanks for the inspiration - and I'm always happy to see the cute designed the templates!🎨

I just watched with my 7 year old son who loves watercolor mixing experiments. 😊 His favorite is the Potter's Pink and Indigo since it looks "like a distant planet". Lovely mixes and a fun video.

I live for the delight in your voice when you really love a mix. It's just joyous! Some gorgeous mixes, -especially the granulating color separating ones. Thanks for sharing and encouraging us to play with our paint! ♥ Love from Kansas, US.

It’s relaxing watching you doing this and seeing the difference when they have dried. They look a nice mix of paints and you can get a lot of different effects out of them which is great as it gives more interest to the painting 🥰
The air conditioner was not a problem at all. I really liked the potter’s pink with the Aquarius black and the viridian mix was lovely too. That Aquarius black is kind of a stealthy genius. I need to try some mixes now.🥰
Thank you so much for this video! Fascinating mixes-just what I need to do now when I cannot sleep and need something ” thoughtless” = no worries, to do and that gives joy too. Have you tried the A Gallo watercolours, they are lovely, such interesting texture and mixes and they smell lovely of rosemary, I really recommend them. I have o ly a small batch of the Aquarius watercolours , I agree with you that they are very nice! I have to try to get some of the colours you mix with here, I have the Potters pink-a sort of re-found colour for me again after many uears and it is so lovely to mix with, as you show here! I hope you AC will stay cooperative! Thanks again for your lovely videos!

Thank you for being here and watching! I am so glad you enjoyed the video! 💖
Again a very nice video with great colors 🙂 QUESTION: Do you also know the feeling of "I don't want to waste color or as little as possible"? How do you handle that? If you take paint directly from the pans and paint directly it is yes often too much paint that gets on the paper. However, when I take paint from the pan and apply it to the mixing palette, I have the feeling that far too much paint is lost in the brush because only a little paint remains on the palette and most of it ends up in the waterglass when I clean the brush for the next color 😱 Do you have any tips to avoid this? For example: squeeze brushes on the palette or water the pans heavily and then remove it with a pipette or you guys don't care completely? 😃 Maybe a topic for a little video? LG, Sunshine ☀

Hi sunny! Thank you so much for watching and for your lovely question. I think what I do if I get too much paint on my brush, is to wipe the surplus amount on my palette, before rinsing it in water. It's by no means a perfect method and I do sometimes forget to do it, but it can help! ❤️🎨
The blue and turquoise are stunning. So many interesting effects with some of the other colors. I really enjoy watching you swatch colors!

Was watching the interview with Roman Szmal on KZread was interesting
Hello from Québec ! I love Roman Szmal paints . I am at the start of the video so you might explain why you placed the half pans on their side instead of the "right" way (so the long side of the half pan is the same length as the short side of the full pan) in your palette tin. You can place 7 full pans on each row or 13 half pans.
Wonderful video Lily! I am always amazed by the colours you mix, just beautiful 🤩 and, I love your ramblings❤ I don’t have any R/S paints, so no favourite mixed colours to share…I live much of the paints vicariously through your lovely videos 🎉 😊

Hi! I hope you enjoy the video! 🥰
Very interesting results with the first three in the middle row. On my screen the granulation is giving me the impression of a metallic sheen. I guess you’ve found a way to swatch metallics without realizing it. 😁- Shelley

Haha Shelley, I hadn't thought of that! They are truly matte in real life though, no shiny bits to be seen! 😁
I just got a handpicked set of Roman szmal's watercolor as well and I'm in love. I realized that I have room for 4 more and I'm agonizing between 6 additional choices. Luckily 2 are for-sure picks that I just stupidly forgot when I ordered, but picking the other 2 is going to be agony. I love them so much already. They are beautiful, well- behaved watercolors (my other favorite palette is my 22 color QOR palette, and it loves to be chaotic). This was a lovely video. Thank you for sharing! Edit: has anyone else been disappointed by the Phthalo blues in this line? I got the red and green shade bc I usually like to use non-granulating blues in my split primary colors, but I found them dull in comparison with the other Phthalo blues I use. However, the Ultramarine Intense might be my favorite, least-granulating Ultramarine Blue i have used. It is my new warm mixing blue. Also, I cannot recommend Ultramarine pink enough. PR259. It is a more vibrant/saturated pink than potter's pink, but also has some lovely granulation

Beth, I can feel that pain, I have space for a few more RS colours in my palette and it's going to be soooo difficult to choose! I may have to try that PR259, it sounds lush!!! 🥰 I haven't tried any of their Phthalos, sorry I can't help. Maybe someone here could enlighten us?
Ohhh thoroughly enjoyed your mixing video with Roman Szmal colours. I really enjoy mixing colour and looking at how many I can make mixing one colour with all the rest of my pallete. Some surprise me, some are rubbish and some are just breathtaking. I haven't tried many mixing with Roman Szmal as yet but I thoroughly enjoy playing and mixing with my Rosa Gallery Paints. Made a whole A3 of oranges greens and purples from reds yellows and blues I have in my pallete and an a4 page full of granulating colours.

16:10 I tried the cobalt + mars black and PG50 + mars black mixes using Schmicnke paints, but my mixes turned out dull. Yours are very luminous.

That could also be the camera making it more vibrant, but besides that, the real thing is definitely not dull. I think the cobalt sea blue by RS is PB28 perhaps that makes a difference too? It's really interesting information, thank you for letting us know how it went 😁🎨

@@lilymoonart Hi Lily 👋🏼. It could also be the Aquarius Black. The PBk11 that I have is Mars Black, which is slightly different to Aquarius Black. I think the Schmincke Mars Black is closer to Roman Szmal’s Roman Black PBk11. Roman Szmal has three PBk 11 version: Mars Black, Aquarius Black and Roman Black.
