He didn't almost go for the ginger cat. He was fighting as a team with the ginger cat. That's why when the ginger cat bolted so too did he. It's probably his sibling. You should watch that again, lol. :)

@@jessmjfan989 I’m guessing that the cat was feeling threatened as other animal has stepped into its territory. It most likely did that threatening meow cats usually do when they have territorial bouts but the poor dog probably didn’t understand it.

The cats lucky the dog didn’t bit into him when he was airborne and conveniently level with the dogs open mouth. That would have killed him instantly. The dogs biting strength is more than the cat could handle.

The dog of this video doesn´t seem that frightened and seems to be of that type that would kill a cat. I have had both cats and dogs for several years... People would abandon their cats, next to my house because they knew that I would feed them. Regarding interactions, according to my experience, female dogs tend to be meaner against cats than male dogs, but regarding fatal interactions,,, male dogs were more prone to it: , a male german shepperd killed a neighbor cat and for some reason ate almost all of it leaving only the head. A cocker spaniel male once almost killed another neighbor cat (fortunately I appeared fast enough to save the cat), but the cat in the end was really injured and it took some hours to finally leave the place. I´m speaking about adults, because several kitties were killed by dogs. But the behavior varies from animal to animal: a certain male german shepperd would let a territorial female cat scratch his nose and he would run from her. A setter male dog, though, would put the same territorial female cat at bay and the cat would run from him. Female dogs with puppies were very aggressive towards cats, the same I observed on female cats with kitties towards dogs, but the cats would avoid confrontation with meaner dogs, like the setter dog.

The dog probably knew he was in danger if it tried to escalate the situation. Outside of pitbulls, dogs will rarely attack or engage a stray cat due to risk/reward instincts. They knew a cat can injure them n the meat they'd gain would be minimum. Suffice it to say, people need to remember how violent cats can be. They might be small but they're still apex predators.

The second attacking cat, the ginger one, must be a bonded sibling/friend of the first attacker. The first attacker probably has PTSD from his past experience with dogs. It's too bad. But it's nice that there is some solidarity there between the cats. Other cats, like the ginger and white one at the side of the bench, was quite friendly to the dog, judging by his tail, upright and curling at the end. That one was shocked at what happened next, as we're most of the cats.

It isn't instincts, it is experience, I have done volunteer work in associations of stray cats and I have seen people releasing dogs (like Huskies, Fox terrier, etc) to hunt cats. When you work on this, they beg you not to bring dogs, because these cats have traumas, it has been very irresponsible and so stupid to bring a dog.

@@cacatuacontraumas8039 I am glad that you volunteered. I have grown up in between cats and also volunteered at the Humane society of Fairfax, VA. When I say ‘cats’ I’m talking about 7-8. The fact that they tried to attack him almost instantly is a result of trauma, certainly. They may have at some point seen their other family members being mauled to death by dogs. However, what I was referring to as the ‘instincts’ is how they directly went for the dog’s throat as if they were coached to know that’s where his critical weakness lies. That’s called ‘throat clamping’ and is exhibited by all members of the cat family: lion, tiger, puma, leopard, feral cats etc. It enables them to suffocate the prey by crushing the windpipe and also bleed them to death if the arteries were to be damaged

@@zarakdurrani7584 It depends on size actually. Of course, a cat the same size of a dog would be stronger but wild dogs literally hunt house cats if you leave them outside. You can find multiple videos of single wild dogs even, actively hunting house cats and wild cats. Then there are dog breeds that can stand their own with Bears and Wolves. A pack of those can even murk a large Cat like Tiger or Lion. And let's not forget the biggest stat difference. Wild Dog Breeds of every kind have a hunting success rate of over 80% with big cats like Lion and Tiger falling way below at 20%-30% depending on the breed.

At 31 seconds, the mixed gray/white cat goes straight for the dog's eyes. I'm surprised that he didn't blind the dog.

I like how most of those cats didn't seem to mind dog except for that tuxedo cat under the bench and white ginger cat near the bench, who were both cautiously observing the pooch. Then the calico and ginger just cause a whole scene by running out from behind the bench and unsuccessfully trying to intimidate that dog. Right as the dog went into defense mode, a different calico just slapped and scared away a grey piebald tabby in the background. Then half of the cats, including the dog's two attackers who just realized that they done fucked up, just scatter away like cockroaches. After that, the only ones who stay by are the two cats on the bench and the tuxedo cat under the bench, who are now cautiously watching the dog.

I would have been scared for my poor dogs eyes... Fortunately, mine got "hit" by a cat when she was a puppy, so the cat didn't really hurt her but it was enough for her to be carefull for the rest of her life! She would sometimes start chasing a cat but if the cat didn't run away she would stop and not go further LOL Swans can be very aggressive with dogs, too, i had to intervene more than once to be sure nobody got hurt... Impressive video!

@Freja Lindberg Having been attacked by a feral cat in my neighbourhood, I wouldn't agree that a cat scratch or bite is nothing. And, while I agree to a certain extent that you should keep your dog away from certain animals, when there are feral cats living in the gardens of your apartment complex, and most stay hidden or at least keep their distance, it's hard to know which, if any, are "attack" cats. The end of your comment was rude, to say the least, and makes you sound like your taking a stand from the top of your high horse. The fact that there wasn't a single cat attacking but several, and there were many more that might attack makes this possibly a very unsafe situation, especially if the cats just came out of nowhere to surround these people.

The poor dog was minding his own business and the little sneaky cat decides to act up but I have to say everyone is overlooking a mistake by the blonde bubbleheaded woman. She’s feeding that huge group of feral cats, very amateur mistake. If there was just one it would be no big deal but that’s never a good idea, there’s going to be a few trying to jockey for position by going uncivilized.

They even attack foxes this way and get their jaws and skull cracked, especially in the UK

@@rikumajumder1558 There really is no other good solution to go for against a superior predator. High risk, high reward. Scratching the throat will not stop a dog. The bite force of a cat is too weak to kill a big dog. I have seen cats fight with dogs and they always clawed their faces, which made them usually retreat.
