Brilliant Alan, who’d have thought map reading could be so complicated but really important. Where did you learn to map read?

I first learnt in the army when i was 18 then have used books to advance the skill set, although I did do a course for my Yachtmaster Theory exam. I am also interested in natural navigation so do a lot of reading about that. But the important thing is to practice what you learn or it's easily forgotten. Plus things never work out as easy as books would have you believe, no matter what the subjec,t so getting out and trying these things is very important,

The boots are from the Hanwag Tatra range. Quite popular with game keepers in Scotland. Bought from The Keswick Boot Company. And yes I got the Champers but they wouldn't let me have the girl.
