Wild Bobcat Gives Birth to 5 Kittens in My Yard - day 4
Үй жануарлары мен аңдар
I live in a community that was built in the wilderness around Beaumont, California. But nature here did not give up; instead, it is adapting to humans. Now, in June 2024, a wild bobcat decided to raise her family in my yard.

Two summers ago we found a scrawny pitiful kitten on our back deck. It looked half dead. I soon realized that it was a baby bobcat. I put cat food and water out for it and it ate like it was starving before going back into the woods. Later it returned and ate the feral cats food. This continued and we began watching for it. It developed a schedule coming early in the morning and just at dark at night. So I bought raw chicken at the store and fed it twice a day. It would often play with the cats in the back yard. We never tried to make a pet of it I fed it all that summer and through the long cold winter. By spring it was fully grown healthy big and beautiful. It began to come less and less and eventually stopped completely. I hope it went off to find a mate and live a long happy life. We loved helping it

God bless U for allowing her to give birth in a safe environment in your yard compared with some idiots who would try and hurt her while she is in the middle of labor.........We humans build in their territory rather than the other way around. We need to be kind and fair to wild animals.
Watching her leap up onto that fence with a kitten in her mouth… wow. Power and grace.

Thank you for sharing. It was a beautiful experience.
That effortless jump over the fence!!
Can we just appreciate for a moment that that beautiful girl gave birth and shortly after jumped a fence while holding her babies?! 😮😊
Look at those muscles! What good mama!
Had the babies in the SAFEST place she could find and then moved them when they were a little older... GOOD MOM.
Thankyou heaps from my heart and soul for helping her . Not many people would. Your one in a million❤❤❤❤

More like a miracle of nature. Mind blowing how bodies of female animals are designed.
That is so sweet and I hope they come back to see you all.
That’s quite a ride for those babies
Thank you for sharing your home with these beautiful creatures!
It's built-in to move them, the birth produces blood and excess bodily tissues that are hard to entirely clean up, so after a certain point predators can hone in. Ground-nesting birds will also do that, to get away from the smell of the eggshells and fluids decomposing. In my observation.
She looks very healthy and well fed. She must know how to make a good living in suburbia! Best wishes to her, her kittens and to you.

She must’ve been hunting rats, raccoons, squirrels, and birds that feed on the garbage and scraps of leftovers that humans throw away. And she probably hunts lizards and small snakes that hide in the garages, backyards and gardens.
You got to see something very special and rare for a fleeting while. You gave her quiet and space and respect. Who knows? Maybe she'll come back for a future litter!
Thank you for taking such good care of her and her family. You saved her and kept her wild, incredible! You are good people🙏🏻😌

Read “Bringing Nature Home” for how to help. At this point, the suburbs are the final refuge for a great deal of wildlife and our choices will determine whether they survive or starve. Spoiler, native plants, native plants, native plants!
What a blessing to witness that.
This is so awesome. I hope they're doing well after she moved them.
Jumping up on to that fence super impressive.
I love how peaceful it is at your place. Perfect place to read a good book with the birds singing in the background. The bobcat mom chose the perfect place with nice people. Thank you for your kindness.
Beautiful.....❤❤
This is incredible! Im so glad you welcome the family in your yard❤
I hope she and her babies are protected and stay safe, happy, and healthy. Bless the animals ❤
The more we build in their territory the more we see this. Thank you for respecting that it's just as much their home as it is ours. Plus they'll keep the rodents away!!
What an honor! It's the equivalent of being chosen by a shelter cat.
Bobcats move their babies location many times during the first few months, it's to stay safe, they need to be one step ahead all the time. So thankful she had your home and I hope she can continue to find safe havens.
she must have felt safer in your yard.
Very nice yard, she felt safe❤
i am glad she is back in nature.

She probably moved them from your yard to somebody else's yard.
She needs to find food that's why she's leaving.
She needs a little shelter out there to put her baby's in. She's worried while animals are going to get her babies and there's no shelter back there. She needs something. It's too bad you can't go back there. Cause you'd probably get attacked. Oh, this is a bad situation. Humans overtaking the wildlife's land this is what happens.

I’m not sure if one should interfere that way with nature. Ideally, you don’t want to attract wild creatures to stay too close to humans. It endangers them.

I know it's tempting to want to take care of her but she's a wild animal. Unless she or the babies are hurt (in which case you can call the Humane Society or similar organization), it's better to leave them be. I appreciate your kindness toward animals, though
