Why do we take our children to see animals in captivity and then teach them it's entertainment? We of all people should know that captivity is wrong 🤷🏾‍♀️. It's sad we don't really think about the things we've been conditioned to accept as 'normal' bc "everyone else is doing it" but at whose expense? 🙈🙉🙊

Interesting thought. I recently started to thing about this last few years. I personally don't like going to the zoo for this reason but very hard to refuse a kid to see animals. Especially when a lot of education material, and videos use animals all the time.

There's a point in time where we have to seriously question ourselves as adults and ask what exactly are we teaching our children: to be followers of 'rinse and repeat crimes' or the next leaders of positive change and justice. Bottom line: there are other ways to teach children about animals instead of taking them to these 'zoos'
