DrexisGrimmiger Well if this was OoT then you would be right, but this is Hyrule Warriors. While many characters are from OoT there are lots of character from outside the zelda timeline so this game is probably not cannon, meaning it is an alternate universe, meaning as long as Shiek's gender isn't revealed in the game people can call he/she whatever they like. For example, I agree that Shiek is female in Oot, SwS(impa counts i guess), but for smash especially 4 i'm leaning towards male, if you look at shiek's close up shots she/he seems to have pecks over a chest of course that's always been shiek's look, but I like pretty anime boys, sue me. TL;DR: Let' people say what they want about a character it makes them happy and it doesn't affect you in anyway.

Sheik looks great! I love the elemental damage output concept! Will she have a whip as a weapon in the future? Thumbs up if you're looking forward to this upcoming Monday for the Hyrule Warriors Direct! Awwww, yeah!

I think Sakurai is trying to stay true to OOT, when Zelda transforms into Sheik, she turns into a Sheikah man, and Sheikahs aren't white (look at Impa, she's dark skinned)

All these characters have me excited about the game. But the one thing that has me even more excited is the music, oh man. That music, so good.

God I love Sheik!! All of the songs she plays so much nostalgia and love!!

Wow, Sheik uses the same harp that Zelda did in Skyward Sword! And with Zelda using a Wind Waker in this game, she and Sheik are both using music based attacks! Do you think there's some sort of connection between Sheik and Zelda? Wouldn't that be so weird?

Not sure if you are serious but Sheik is Zelda. In OoT Sheik even reveal infront of Link that she is Zelda and had to hide from ganondorf that way. You get lots of hints before she do that too.

It's not polite to call people stupid, Pikachu. Especially when using improper syntax, as it damages your point. After all, I'm talking about how astounding and surprising it would be is Zelda and Shiek were, somehow, someway, surprisingly and entirely unexpectedly, connected! That isn't an unreasonable question; I'm sure there aren't any players who have the slightest notion of whether or not it's even plausible. No need to be so toxic.

The fact that each song Shiek plays on her harp to change the element of her attack is a really nice touch

so the song she teaches link in ocarina of time she uses them as magic power here...AWESOME!

And Sheik still has a clone final smash...

Thats so amazing!! I love Sheik and this game seems enjoyable

I'm so excited for this game like holy crap

I loved hearing Bolero of Fire. I have no idea why but I have always enjoyed that one song. It was the first song I would try to play in any new Zelda game, just to hear how it sounded different. I really liked playing it in Majora's Mask with the different transformations.

Those songs brings so much memories.

I love how the song of storms 0:39 causes a whirlwind to act as a shield and damage enemies around her.

I like how they are referencing OoT, just hoping for Majora's Mask

OMG that one little detail. Shiek is playing the warping songs from OoT and considering the one she uses, it has different effects. I love little details like that!

I feel so satisfied whenever I play Sheik, especially when using the harp's x attack power *o*

Wow, I love how the songs produce appropriate effects. Nocturne of shadow creates a black hole and serenade of water a whirlpool.

Oh Sheik ! Its my favorite héros on Zelda games

Every hardcore Zelda fan should be hyped for this even if you don't like Dynasty Warriors!

Man they just added pretty much any character they could to this. That's awesome.

Sheik = Wang Yuanji + Cai Wenji from Dynasty Warriors + A little bit of Vergil from Devil May Cry (due to that sweet Judgement Cut style Knife handling towards the end there)

These songs when Sheik plays the harp during her combo... Freaking nostalgia.

So far I think Sheik's gameplay is the most versatile one. Pretty amazing.

This is the Sheik that i want in Smash.

Sheik looks pretty cool, hopefully there will be more characters to come! *crosses fingers for Groose and a Wind Waker character*

For people confused about Sheik's gender, it's a woman. If the curves, the female voice, and female gestures didn't tip you off, OOT players should know it's Zelda in disguise. While many people refer to sheik as "he" in OOT, they simply don't know Sheik's a woman. I mean, even Link didn't know until she revealed herself to be Zelda. It's kinda like the situation in Persona 4 where its blatantly obvious that Naoto is a girl, but all the characters think shes a man because she dresses like one. Also, Sheik's smash bros trophies use "she" and "her", so there really shouldn't be a debate over her gender. Sheik is 100% female.

By the way, I love your persona 4 reference. At first I thought Naoto is a boy. It's reveal that she's a girl. She's disguised as a boy due gender stereotypes.

Well in the Japanese version of OoT, Sheik isn't just Zelda in male drag. According to Nintendo, in OoT Zelda used her powers from the Triforce of Wisdom to fully change herself into a man. However due to western views on gender reassignment at the time, Sheik's gender in areas like North America was kept as female and her powers only changed her skin and eye color, with her man look being pulled off with the use of padding and binding. Sheik basically went from being a fully male character to a fully female one over time to please western audiences.

@@tanukidrummer That's false. You made that up. Nowhere in the Japanese game is it ever implied that Zelda magically turned herself into a male. Aonuma and Miyamoto have both said Sheik is a woman.

The game looks quite good!!! I believe the difficulty level for the trailers is low on purpose, to show just how much damage the characters can cause to the enemies!!!

Nocturne of Shadow! Song of Storms! Serenade of Water! Bolero of Fire! Prelude of Light! Yup Shiek rocks!

This is about to be a decade old in less than a year…that’s crazy

Sheik Is one of my favorite Hyrule warriors characters

I hope I am not the only who noticed that sheik does heavy attacks of the song equipped till shiek plays it, then gets the next song's power as a new heavy attack.

It looks like it's going to be a very solid beat 'em up game.

Weapons are tiered in the Warriors games, so I would assume the Goddess Harp is the best in the game for this particular moveset. So no, not really a mistake~
