You’re game looks pretty impressive, love the aesthetics. Kinda hard to see what the gameplay is about tho, I assumed shooting tanks, but in the video’s I saw you only got power-ups and collected stuff on the ground.

Well done, i remember playing this when i was like 8 and getting to level 50. That was an awesome moment for me, i never knew there were actually 100 Missions.

Wii Play can be played in either 16:9 or 4:3 (Aspect Ratio). For speed running purposes, 4:3 is much faster than 16:9. Because I'm using an emulator, all I need to do is enable 'Force 4:3'.

The speed of the tanks and bullets somehow feels speed up to me. Was tanks really that hectic back in the day or is the emulation device running this game faster than usual ?

I've compared both emulator and console. Timing is exactly the same between the two. It really was just that crazy back then!

Usually I get to level 6 then it goes way down hill. Don’t worry, there are even harder versions of wii tanks out there. (This man made a Master mod, you should prolly check it out, videos)

On the Wii version levels 21-99 are randomized not including the special missions 30,40,50,60,70,80,90. I thought the randomization is different for each copy of the game, so do speedrunners all use the same layout of tanks for every run?

Nope. It's all RNG. You get good maps, you're golden. If you get bad/long maps, things become harder.

@@BigKitty1011 Couldn't people mod which tanks appear to be easier? Some seeds are better than others, so it might be good to have a standard. I don't know how many people speedrun tanks, but it feels weird to me that different records have different game layouts.

@@ziggyjg2453 Yes, you prob could. But where's the fun in that? Personally, I like challenges where 'beating the odds' are involved. I understand that many ppl don't like RNG heavy speedruns. But comparatively, Wii Tanks is not as RNG dependent as you may think. It still takes skill to be able to get through missions quickly. And a good player will be able to make the best out of the good, and the bad missions. I haven't been much of a grinder myself. So a little dabble of RNG helps to spice things up if you know what I mean ;)

I play tested the 'Wii Tanks Pro' mod using this same save (this is done on emulator). That mod has 640 tanks instead of 540.

Probably could’ve completed it in 10 minutes if there weren’t so many wise guys

Honestly, if I was willing to grind, probably sub 40. It would surely be the most amazing run on Wii Tanks ever. Unfortunately, I do have a life. So I can't put enough time into this to make it happen...

Possible? For sure! Likely? Not really... The issue is that completing 100 Missions fast requires quite a bit of luck. Some maps are worse than others. Some might take 40 seconds to complete, others 10 seconds. The best you can really do is to complete the first 20 as fast as possible, and then pray to RNJesus that you get a good combo of maps!
