Wigan Junction Railways | Disused line ran close to the Manchester and Southport Line | Sim0nTrains

In this video, looking at two railways which ran out of Wigan in Greater Manchester but they almost ran parallel with each other at Ince
The lines that Sim0nTrains will focusing on are the Manchester to Southport Line between Wigan Wallgate and Hindley and the former Wigan Junction Railways between Wigan Central and Hindley South but using the Manchester and Southport Line to travel on Northern Trains and visiting the disused stations in Ince and Hindley.

    Yet another brilliant Simontrains Railways Journey and I found the Disused Railway Lines and Stations pat of the Vlog very interesting indeed my friend it just shows you how many stations and railway lines that sadly closed down due to certain industries that the railway relied on all them years ago and the rest I’m assuming would of been something to do with Dr Beaching I look forward to Part 2 of this Simontrains Railway Journey when it is released on to your channel until then my friend keep up the good work take care and stay safe

    i really enjoyed this one its amazing to see Wigan Wallgate and Wigan again i arrived at Wallgate when i visited Wigan back in Sept and i walked passed that multi storey car park for the Grand arcade shopping centre when i was walking back into town from trying to visit the Wigan flashes but failed because it rained anyway Ince and Hindley are lovely stations i travelled passed them on the Salford cres to Wigan line which i rode between said stations and its a nice line to ride with lots of lovely stations im looking forward to the line towards Bolton

    Great video, Simon! That whole area seemed to have railways going in every direction, so it's good to understand how the existing lines evolved and how the other lines became disused

    I honestly learnt quite a bit making this video and it all started when looking at OS Maps at Ince, my plan was to visit this line but while looking around noticed Lower Ince and tracing the lines from that station, a idea for this video sparked, to bring a active line and a disused line together. thanks barrowc

    I live in Wigan and the lost railway lines are close to where i live. One track bed still has the ballast on it and can be wake along for a fair distance

    Interesting Facts about the hidden Railways around Wigan surprised that there weren't any surviving clues at Hindley especially the footpath section where you stood on Bridge, Great Video Simon:)
