It's so nice to see your wife as excited about the car as you, I got goose bumps when that Lanc flew over, those Merlins sound awesome.

The car suits her. Once she gets it down, she'll want to drive it all the time. My wife had the same reaction when she first drove my '85 Chevy c10 that I built with a 454. She has to have a pillow behind her to reach the pedals lol. My Chevy isn't as cool as yours though. That '36 is an eye catcher for sure.

Fun video to watch. Does that count as a date? Y'all didnt leave the driveway but in my world I think it counts! Itd alot of fun when the wives get involved. I've got mine practicing painting with One Shot. She is getting pretty good. Take care ✌

I believe there are only 2 Lancaster bombers flying in Canada ,you are very lucky indeed .Good luck on the door framing ...sure you'll do just fine. Way to go Mrs Scott .

There's only 2 Lancasters flying in the whole world. One of them lives at out local airport. You can buy a membership to the club and get to fly in it once a year.

Nice to have that kind of support in your corner. You may need a larger steering wheel or a power rack if she wants to get out of the driveway. Check out Kenny Hicks rat rod build day one, if you don't like bending steel you can use 1x3 tube. leave it square on the inside and contour the outside. This will be tough, good luck.

Your wife is real nice and better bring her on more on your videos for Some added joy brother... You should have warned her its not like the red mini! Anyway regarding works the angled beams and sizes sound perfect... Yes a squared shape instead of the rotten wood and an X connecting all 4 corners and sub structure welded with holes for the door's arm wrist that can be brought from any modern car and done in same theme upholstery to have it all fitting all nicely and a another minor one for the attachment of inner door handle to bolt on as well... Not sure if u want to go the extra mile and have electric windows because these u can have buttons for right by the red key or on door itself throughbthe hand wrist... Or if u d go classic roller then u d have one more minor support to hang on... It d be favorable to add some insulation into the doors... Heat and sound insulation... Not most informed on the materials but i remember something foamy like that gets stuffed through ur door structure after you are done... So u d just keep the engine noise off a bit and summer heat if u plan on making an AC in the big console between the dashboard and ground one with vents and a radio and some buttons or something... Lets make it more of a resto mod than just a hot rod dave... Im sure the wife would even like it more than the Mini now!!!

15:00-15:05 ! In hindsight,.. you should have closed the garage door first, then if something went awry, you wouldn't have worry about cleaning it for a while because it's just been replaced! 👊

I have some pictures of my '36 coupe doors that I would like to email to you, but I don't have your email address. They have the original wood framework, which I hate, because I can't keep it tight where the hinges attach. Someone added power windows back in the 80's which also needs to be reworked. I want to do just as you've suggested and frame the door in steel and add a 1/4" plate on the leading edge for a more secure hinge attachment. I'm new to KZread and haven't figured out how to post video's yet.
