Kendall, Cody was my nephew, I am the mother of his cousin Derek, part of the San Jose CA family. I hope this message finds you because it is sent with my sincerest gratitude. I want you and all of your subscribers to know that everything you presented is true and correct and as difficult as it was, I watched the entire post because you have a way about you as you speak, such care and authenticity, thank you for honoring Cory's memory. I will say that when I received the call late Monday morning after his "disappearance", my immediate comment to family was that she (Jordan) was behind it, it was completely and totally premeditated and I can assure you that Cody did not have a mean, violent bone in his body and 30 years was indeed very disappointing, I will not comment here as to what I wished for her fate. I thank you for so eloquently honoring his memory.

I am SO shook right now because I just finished listening to this before doing my homework for Modern Theatre History, and the play I’m reading is exactly what happened in this case. It’s called Machinal by Sophie Treadwell and it was written in 1928. It’s about a woman who marrys her husband for convenience and ultimately murders him. It mentioned multiple times how she felt disgusted by his sexual advances. The inspiration comes from a famous murder case between Judd Gray and Ruth Snyder, and Albert Snyder in 1927. This quote from the play shook me to the core after just having listened to this video “Judge: If you just wanted to be free - why didn’t you divorce him?” “Helen: Oh I couldn’t do that!! I couldn’t hurt him like that!” Coincidences like this happen to me often, but this seemed too real. Wth?!

@Ren Strange You are absolutely correct. An annulment would have the marriage contract null and void basically as though it had never existed. Originally they only allowed annulments IF the marriage wasn't consummated .... but we hear more and more that even if consummated, a marriage can be annulled, probably if it has been less than 6 months, though I am not sure on that time frame. It could even be a year for all I know about the time frame aspect of today's changes within law that have taken place. Heck one simply has to claim irreconcilable differences to obtain a divorce whereas originally one had to have a major and decent reason for a divorce. "Not getting along? You better figure out a way to do so you're stuck together now, unless you have a better reason to justify a divorce." .

I wonder if she meant, like, in life? If she was raised really strictly Christian, she might not have thought she had an option to say no to a husband. If she didn't want to have sex with him, she might not even be straight, but depending on how strict her family is she might not have felt like she had a choice. Murder is not the solution there, but we can't forget how suffocating these Christian families can be sometimes
