I came across the short for this video recently and as a Namibian I was shocked that there are actually people in South Africa creating such great content! I subbed and turned on the bell, keep up the amazing work, love the editing and style, and all the support from your neighbouring country 😉♥

Excellent build and use of off the shelf parts. Solid reference to the slingshot channel. Also, excellent use of "lol just use a phone and a controller" Although that's probably still the cheapest path to gamecube.
I wanna know exactly how to make one with a step by step tutorial because that’s one of the best DIY projects and I’d kill to have one

Instead of a Gameboy clone that can't fit a pocket, why not build a BBMA (big beautiful mini arcade)? Any phone can run emulators these days anyway.

A speaker attachment that plugs into the aux port like the battery idea
Hey man! Great content and nice build. I love the diy handheld console. I have a question, how difficult is to 3d print and create a raspberry pi 5 handheld in the same size and looks like the Lenovo Legion GO. Ithat has a Big screen, and the same buttons and joystics arrangement?
The Joerg clip got you my sub
I was actually looking for something like this!
You got my subscription man
😀 underrated i love the handheld
Wow nice project bro
Bro I have been waiting for the upgrades . . .
Do you have the Instructables page for this one? I wanted to build something like this with an Orange Pi 5 and a salvaged LG Android screen.
Impressive!
I have an idea for the battery pack to make it better: add a speaker/an amp to add to the quality of the sound.

@@BuildItnow Just found your channel and your videos are awesome I don't know how you don't get more views. I was considering trying something like this with one of those telescopic controllers that snap on to your phone.
Nintendo is now going to sue you for using that "Yahoo" and mario hat.
Literally found this while thinking of something similar but with an old phone. I have no electronics nor printing experience tho :(
@BuildItnow

The super simple solution is to just get yourself a cheap Bluetooth controller and use it with your old phone, what I built was a little over kill. As for electronics and printing skills, there’s always time to learn, start with some smaller easier projects and you’ll get the hang of it.

I used the power banks original BMS circuit, controller connected to the orange pi via its USB port
I'm trying to do a similar thing with an old Android phone and a keyboard like you mentioned. Anyway you post the video like that repurposing an old Android phone
Underrated
i thought of a good add-on for the W I D E BOI, a physical storage pack, it will store a couple stuff like a mini router and the small keyboard you have. it woud probably give twice the length, but its worth it. :)

can you procur link in the description for the part I can't find the controlller you used
is there any download for the 3d model?
How did you learn to design stuff like this in Fusion 360?
How did u put a mobile screen to the pi.
Did it have shoulder buttons? I didn't notice
„Any kind of fine white powder“💀
Wait, where are the shoulder buttons?
You just glued the gamepad circuits or you modified something?
Does it have sleep mode like a regular android phone? Or does it completely shut off the power?

An Android phone with video over USB-C is one option. Bonus points if it has a desktop mode to fit a normal sized screen. A 2018 vintage Galaxy S8 with a dying screen and busted back glass is going to be dirt cheap; a lot cheaper and a lot more capable than an Orange Pi if you're going to make an Android gaming handheld.
