Wide Eyed Wild Ride on Idaho's Most Remote Road | Idaho BDR 4

Join our Patreon!!: / venture2roam
Will, Chris, and Rob ( @Revere Overland ) enter their 6th and 7th day overlanding the Idaho BDR. This section take them across the salmon river, up the mountains, and through the spooky woods to find an old, but very historically significant Ghost Town. Then, they head for Elk City Idaho and the Magruder Corridor. Along the Magruder, they visit two jaw dropping fire towers, and visit the site where the Magruder Massacre happened before continuing on to Darby, Montana...the BACK to Idaho and into the Lolo Motorway at night. This Adventure is getting Adventurous!

We did the Magruder a couple years ago in my XJ. Burnt knob is worth the trip. You briefly showed the stone bridge over the Selway river towards the end of video. It was built by the CCC during the great depression and is still working. Very few of these bridges still exist. Great video guys.

@@Venture2Roam The XJ with a 5 inch lift and only 31 inch tall tires made the way up the Burnt Knob no problem. The worst thing was we encountered a Tacoma going up the trail when we were coming down. It was on a sketchy narrow section of Burnt Knob but we did get by each other.

Idaho native, when I moved from Moscow to Boise in 1993 I did the entire trip on dirt, well I crossed pavement twice. Retraced the route with a few detours as Covid descended on the country with a friend and spent ten days driving 672 miles of dirt and 112 on pavement. There’s still plenty of dirt tracks to follow that few venture out on. Out of 672 dirt roads we had to cut three trees and winch up a gnarly slope one time otherwise the 2006 jeep TJ unlimited (LJ) did it with 31” tires and open diffs.

I was really pissed...and you probably caught some that in the vid (even though I don't get mad on camera). I had new gears and lockers installed on my Jeep..and literally everything installed has failed. Like every single part. It's the ONE job I didn't do myself on the Jeep. Anyway, I rant. I'll take my chances with the Rubicon next time I buy a rig. I know Brad's had some issues with this too...so you never know...but on the whole those e lockers tend to be more reliable than my air lockers, at least the way they were installed on my rig.

I think you’ll probably be ok. We had a TON of snow this year though. It really just depends on how hot the Spring gets. So far, it’s been hot and the snow is melting fast. I’d keep checking the snowpack on those mountains if I were you.
