Will, Chris, Rob, and now Jake are trying to finish this 10 day epic overlanding adventure on the Idaho Backcountry Discovery Trail. Will's Jeep is making funny noises and starts to fall apart, while Rob has a life changing development. The group has to figure out whether or not they can make it to the Canadian border, and ultimately how to to say goodbye to this adventure and each other.

what an incredible journey. I've enjoyed every single episode. I'm kinda a mix of emotions on this last episode. I totally wish I had your outlook on making the best of the situation. I don't think I would have recovered from the loss of a drone, plus my phone, plus a chewed up driveshaft, and crashing ANOTHER drone. hats off to you for still making through the day without it ruining your experience. Thank you for sharing your journey with us. you've inspired me, and i appreciate the time it took to bring us all along. As much as I wanna say I can't wait for your next adventure, you definitely deserve that time spent with your family and friends.

What a great comment Jason, thank you! I’m gonna miss this series as well. I was probably more upset than you could see on camera…but Chris and Jake were right here to pick me up and help me stay positive. I was upset because I was worried I wouldn’t be able to do North Idaho justice with to only two cameras left…but again, the guys pitched in and i think in the end it was exactly the video it was supposed to be.

WELL, that was a Blast!! I just now finished "binging" this entire series and enjoyed it Very much. For 10 years I worked for a company based here in Tennessee where part of my territory was Idaho, Montana, W. Wyoming and E. Washington. I "roamed' around that area 1-2 weeks a month during that special time. I'm a fanatical "Jeeper" and have owed various Jeeps since 1985 (CJ-7). When I could my rental car would be a Jeep Wrangler and I took the opportunity to get off the beatin path and enjoy the backcountry. My wife came with me several times on those trips. I even ran a few small stretches of some of the BDR y'all covered. I'm retired now and enjoy watching "Jeep Overland" type KZreadrs. I've been following your adventures for a couple year and this was my favorite by far. Lotta great memories and several Idaho friends to thank for all of it. Thanks again and as always, "Keep on Jeepin"...

Well, I usually don’t have time to “ veg “ out but I am forced to because I broke my left foot yesterday… I definitely know how Matt feels when tons of stuff goes wrong all at one time. Its so odd to have chosen this today. I was feeling really crappy. So much has happened in the last few years that have turned my life upside down, yet I push on. I was crushed in a rollover accident in late 2019. It broke my back, pelvis, left leg, (and same foot, geez). That happened in the horrific uncertainty of Covid. I got very little medical care. Unbelievably I never got Covid. But I come out of it mostly not able to walk much. I can walk some, on some days but the nerves in my spine swell and things shut down… Just when I’m sort of reframing normal and start doing stuff I can’t do as well any more . I hung my foot in a crevice (while falling), it cracked like I pulled it off my leg. Its a swollen mess right now. So, I am hoping in a few days the swelling will go down and it will stop pounding like a bass drum. I already tossed the pain pills they make me sick at my stomach. I’m sort of like Mat, I get upset on the inside. I hide everything pretty well and I just sort of go off by myself. Usually I want to get all down but I know how lucky I am to even be alive. Its so much easier to be grateful, then it is to get all down and depressed. Yeah my life has had to change but it slowed me down (which wasn’t a bad thing). I have had so many broke bones it’s sort of ridiculous. I was the guy in school with something in a cast or on crutches and it never stopped. I thought the roll over would be hopefully my end of broken bones… well not yet at least. I was forced to sort of retire very young. I still can’t swallow the claiming disability thing. Luckily I have never been a person to go deep in debt, so I have been selling off all the stuff I no longer need to live a much more mobile life. People say I’m crazy, a guy who is about half paralyzed doesn’t do this stuff… well I guess they do because it’s been my life’s dream just to go, see, be out in nature, live a very modest life. Luckily, I’m a pretty small built guy with lots of upper body strength and the ability to work catastrophic appraiser claims (within reason and with technology and a drone I can do so much that couldn’t be done not long ago. Plus I can just process claims mobile if the actual appraiser part gets too ruff. My stuff being tornadoes and hurricanes I only work mostly 5-6 months and otherwise be able to go be a grown kid again, but no more risky stuff that crushes bones hopefully. So many people gripe and whine… All I want is the chance to do what I love. I guess I live up to my name a little too well sometimes, but Chance is simply the choice to take an opportunity or watch it pass by. I need to let some pass by at this point. Happy camping and best wishes for new great adventures. Thank you so much for making my yucky day be a lot less yucky. Have a good one and be safe… Ummm, I’m not sure I need to be the guy saying this anymore? It seems to be a trick or something…😂😖🤣😭

How many miles did you have on that drive shaft? ... I've yet to burn through one ... I wonder what the life expectancy is on stock shafts.

Will, do you have a way of a group that I can join for overlanding. I’m new to it and I live in NY. I would love to visit Utah or Idaho with my family. I just upgraded my 2010 jk for a 2023 jt rubicon. I need to get out. I’m scared to screw up a major trip goi g out west. And tips or groups I can go out with?

NY in the house! Kate and Iived in NYC for 6 years before moving back home to Idaho. Miss it there, but love it in Idaho. I don't go out with any groups or clubs. TBH it can get weird...and people aren't really prepared for the amount of time it takes to film the adventure. That said, and EXCELLENT resource for Idaho trails/trips/overlanding is a Facebook group called Idaho 4X4 Trail Runs: facebook.com/groups/528853831472880 DM me on IG/FB if you want a few pointers!
