Wicklund Family Murders- Man Kills them After Assaulting the mom 8 yrs earlier

Charles Campbell assaulted Renae Wicklund in 1974 and is sentenced to prison. He is released after only serving about 5 years and ends up killing renae wicklund, her daughter shannah and neighber barbara hendrickson 8 yrs after the initial assault. This case drew huge headlines and got WA state to enact new laws mandating that prisons HAVE to notify victims when their perpretrator is being released from prison.
If you have any suggestions for any crime locations, infamous crimes or infamous people you want me to cover, (mostly around WA state as that is where I live but any state is fine) send me a message on facebook or instagram @ infamous crime locations.
Thank you for checking out my channel. If you enjoy crime related content and especially seeing me go to where these crimes happen, definitely subscribe and hit the bell to get notified of every new video. And as always, my name is Harmin and thank you for watching.

The aftermath of this case is why now most states have to notify victims when their abuser or perpetrator is going to be released from prison. The failure from the WA state prison not notifying Renae, cost her, her daughter shannah and neighbor barbara their lives.

Also, if you’re a person in a situation like this you can contact your local sheriffs department and ask them if they have a site you can sign up on to automatically be notified when the perpetrator is arrested, transferred to different facilities or when they’re due to be released. Here in Texas I believe it’s called Vine.

He was released early for good behavior. But his behavior in prison was anything but. The parole board later said that they had not eceived a report of his behavior; I'm not sure I believe that. It's horrible to imagine the terror poor Renae must have felt, when she saw that monster facing her again! They had to pepper spray him and practically drag him to his execution. He was so terrified. So not only was he a vicious killer, he was a coward.

Yep. This guy forced her to commit sex acts at knife point and gets 5 years. But if a guy in the urban community gets caught with drugs they give them 20 to life. I know ppl that did 5 years for marijuana. Yet this guy does a sexual assault and gets out in 5 years. I've heard of pedaphiles getting out on probation with no jail time at all. Ppl dont think race or class have anything to do with these injustices but they have everything to do with it. When it's an older, educated white man molesting kids they get a year in prison but if a minority in the hood gets caught with some drugs they get 10 plus years. Its obvious a certain demographic is being targeted to fill the prison systems

@@aimeemoore1094 I take it that the person you responded to was victim blaming and said something along the lines of 'If the victim moved away, this wouldn't have happened to her'. She probably didn't have the resources to move, but that was also her home that she built up and probably didn't want to be scared away from it, either. However, I feel that even if Renee had moved away, this monster would have still found her. He seems the type to stalk his victims and could have found her address by searching up records, looking in the phone book, asking around to neighbours and friends. The outcome would have still been the same, I think.

The story of what happened to Renae, her daughter and neighbor was one that would leave everyone crying. It started with Renae hanging clothes out in the yard with her baby there in her playpen...he came along and threatened to harm the baby if she didn't go inside...my sister lived in clearview and I visited her often, this is how I know. The house that you show might have either been added onto or completely rebuilt, at the time of the killing it was just a sweet little rambler. I went by there when there was still no crossing tape all over the property, it broke my heart to see Shannah's little bike there.Charles Campbell was demon straight out of hell. They said that he left a trail that even a blind man could have followed. He stopped in between the killings to make coffee. He waited for hrs for shannah to get home. I believe that she was only nine when she passed. There was a little store up in Clearview they were very close to Renae and had started a petition for the death penalty for Campbell, I gladly added my name. I am glad that he can no longer hurt anyone. RIP Renae, Shannah and Barbara Hendrickson.

Out of all the different channels like this on KZread, yours is by far the best Harmin. You give every detail. Look up one from around St. Anne or Aroma Park Illinois about the guy buried alive back in the 80s. I remember that when I lived around that area. I remember his last name was Small or Smalls. It was all over news channels and newspapers.
