Was hoping it was on improving SOOC, You can shoot macros at narrow apertures with flash. Can't really focus stack on fast moving creatures

@@LizziePeirce well... It just shows how the both of you are in sync, don't you think?
I just started shooting macro photography and I couldn't figure out how people got their photos looking super crisp. Thanks for teaching me the basics of focus stacking! Didn't know it was a thing. :)

Me either . Loved this tutorial . I’m going to try it this weekend . The only thing I didn’t like about the final shot was the reflection on the top of the glass . I guess that wasn’t the point thou . 😂
Helicon Focus is awesome! as is this video 😁. Started focus stacking a few weeks ago and its really opened up possibilities. Keep up the good work :)
Can I just say thank you for being so easy to understand and not rambling on and on! 😂 While searching for different things I’m trying to learn today I have clicked off so many videos because the person just rambled on and on and I’m thinking, get to the information!!! Lol your videos are always a delight to watch because you get right to the information and you make it very light and understandable. 🙏🏼
Good info. Loving the hair! Nice new little studio setup area behind you too, I have the same salt rock light :)
Just what I was looking for! Great explaination.
This is sick, also love the new hair
Thank you for this. This was really helpful. Cheers from Singapore! Keep up the great work!! :)
Love the hair! Thanks for this video, I picked up a macro recently.
Good video, simple explanation. Thank you 🥹
Omg the hair! It looks great on you!
I love your new home office background!
Thank you for sharing . I needed this ... ✌🏼
Love the new look!
I love it when youtubers insult you with their video titles. Makes me want to hear what they have to say.
great video,really helpful👍
Your hair looks gorgeous 😊❤️
Been wondering how to do this for a while but this is incredibly useful
Love this! Thank you so much!!!
When shooting the initial photos, what would be your suggested f stop? Also, in terms of editing, is there a reason you don't use Photoshop instead? Is that other app better at processing them?
cool tips. I new the method but actually never thought about using it for macro photos. Cheers Lizzie. Why not using photoshop for focus stacking?
Little confused on why you would want to go through the effort of exporting as jpeg and then open Helion to import the jpegs for stacking. For two to ten images, from Lightroom I edit in PhotoShop as layers and handle the stacking with PS. When PS fails to deliver or I have more than ten images, I will make minor edits in Lightroom then export to Helicon (found in File | Plug-in Extras) for the stacking process. Exporting to Helicon also ensures that the tiff files that Helicon will create on the import will retain color bit depth. Now if only Sony would provide in-camera focus bracketing. So far the only camera brands that have it are: Canon, Fuji, Nikon, Olympus, Panasonic, and Pentax. :/
DAMN GIRL! She's gorgeous! DOPE BACKGROUND THOU. Love it!
It could be interesting to see the difference with 3D rendering, on the visual quality + global time to final image + global production price to final image (Price of body + Lens + lightnings + Space of studio etc, versus 3D rendering of a 3D model of watch + post-prod...). I'm pretty sure 3D wins on the overall comparison, but what do you think ? Could you please make a video about photo vs 3D, sure many people will be interested by this subject.
I like my work flow better that doesn't require a tripod or a computer to do an eight frame handheld in-camera focus stacked image in less than three seconds flat. Now I'm being silly or smart about it. I will say my Olympus does very well with not having any or little halo in the image but I can appreciate the need to edit/stack in post or have much more pixels than 20mp. Enjoyed your video and definitely subscribing. 😀
Hey Lizzie. Wouldn't you have been able to do the stacking by creating an HDR image on Adobe? I am a beginner so, please forgive me if HDRs are for totally something different.
What lens did you use? It's got really bad CA on the areas out of focus....
Damn. That is so cool!
Please more of this type of contents.
This has more advertising than a reality TV show
Not sure if I saw a photography tutorial or a Dell/Inter commercial 🤣😂
How align handheld photos in helicon.. I could never find any option in the software, hence I didnot bought it...
Definitely worth the 30$! Thanks for the tips! 🙌😁
Can that be accomplished with the Lightroom extension of blending?
@LizziePierce can you mention the price of that magnificent Laptop pls ?
Do you have a vinyl skin on your camera or is the sony logo not on the RIV?
We NEVER stop!!! :-D
I was looking at photographs of a wonderful camera being featured, but i noticed how blurry the other features looked in the camera. Ironic how a photograph article was not using focus stacking for what was basically product photography. So I can see how focus stacking is a necessary skill to have.
Why do you focus stack instead of shooting a long exposure with a very closed aperture?asking out of curiosity

You can get even more in focus than with a high f stop. But in some cases it’s really just personal preference

Btw I know that with animals it will be useless
@debangarajchoudhury1409

That is because when shooting at ridiculously close distances, the depth of field Is very thin even with something like f/11-16 or higher. Higher f stop causes the photos to soften, so smallest sharp aperture is used for each photo and then they are stacked. Here the stacking is not used due to the inability to use slower shutter speeds. Macro shots, where many photos are stacked, are mostly shot with tripods; otherwise the framing of each photo will be off and stacking would be difficult. I hope you get it now.

@@debangarajchoudhury1409 wow I didn't knew that opened aperture gives more sharpness, thanks man!!
does she move the camera or just the focus ring while shooting?
Do you focus stack beauty products like lipstick and skin care bottles?

if you're shooting with a macro lens and you want the entire product in focus then yes.
My macro shots look GORGEOUS😂
Did you pull the crown out so the second hand isn't moving
What’s Dell model your using?
Great, now i have 400 pictures of a pearl necklace :D Thanks for showing us!
The new hair 👍👍👍👍 also no fun i notice how the coffee magically dropped in level then u come out and say it at the end 😂😂😂 for a split second, get out of my head 😂😂😂 this kinda helps to see when i take macro pic they look like trash. The more you know 😁
since our camera and subject is stationery and the camera is on a tripod, why cant we just used a stopped down aperture to keep the entire watch in focus?

With this lens it still won’t get the whole watch in focus
Great video Lizzie! Hate the sponsorship, but hey. Gotta pay the bills 💵
I love your hair
Oh yeah, that's right. I don't watch these things when there's no captioning. I'll circle back later to see if they've been added.
is there an option direct in Lr/Ps for focus stacking?

In photoshops there is, - Open stack as Layers - Edit -> Auto align layers - Edit -> Blend layers (as stacked image) A v quick guide...although its hella clunky compared to how quick the tool in this vid looks.
Can’t photoshop do the stacking as well? Why not do all your work in the adobe ecosystem?
Great hair, great video!
great demo and lucky for me I am a youtube watch reviewer so it was perfect...and so often I shoot way too shallow...i'm now ashamed :)
Nice hair mate, it suit you!
I can’t find the first video. I really have looked. 😢
There are not enough comments about the hair. You know we have to see every color now.
You trying to talk about focus stacking or sell a laptop?
GOT EEEEMMM
I seriously loved the information you provided in the video but I really didnt care about the laptop...
Nice watch :)
if my style is to shallow macro
Diggin the hair! ok now I'll watch for actual education.
Or you could just take one photo at F5.6 🤔
Totally disagree. Shallow depth of field in macro implies mystery. Stacking has its place but on the whole dull.
Buen comercial
Wow I have to do all this to get one dang photo?! Haha I thought this would be easier. Buy a macro lens. Shoot amazing photos! 😂. Dang.

Not sure if this was a vid on focus stacking or just shilling for Dell🤷🏻♂️
I love you dear
Hmmm... Fondue!
4:15 ... most adorable part of the video 😅
Export as JPG 🤦♂️ no... don't do that... ...unless you actually want to permanently degrade the image quality forever
Goodbye blonde hair, hello redhead
That's not the macro photography. That's the close up/ product photography. Hence it is okay to focus stack for such kind of results. Macro is entirely different thing. Good tutorial for sponsors though..
The intent behind this video is great, and the production was done very well. It would have been great if the creative team preparing this tutorial about focus stacking macro photography actually knew what macro photography is. Just because you shoot something with a macro lens that doesn't make it a macro shot. Auto focusing macro lenses can focus to infinity so you can shoot portraits with them and even landscapes. This is why Macro Photography is determined by magnification. A whole watch taking about a third of the frame is definitely not a macro shot. Out of respect for the field, couldn't you at least look up what macrophotography is, maybe before making this as you call it - tutorial?
Yeah! Why learn to be a better photographer when the computer can do it for you... 🙄

This is how everyone does it has nothing to do with being a better photographer
@christopherh4653

@@LizziePeirce @Lizzie Peirce No, that's not how everyone does it. Many incredible macro photos were taken long before focus-stacking was even an option. Castigating others for not using this approach in their own macro photography is an even worse offense. Additionally, regarding photography, RAM is often more important than the graphics card or processor.
Just use photoshop. Too much middle men for the sake of sponsorship
Pretty bad photo for all that work
I just felt like an idiot, but I know I am not. For me, you were irritated or something for the whole video. I don’t like videos like this, Lizzie.
