Can we say it louder for the people in the back? How you feed yourself and treat yourself matters. People out here taking all these biotin supplements, putting all kinds of things on their scalp but stressed out, strung out, eating nothing nutritious. Hair grows inside out and so does your soul. Take care of yourself first.

I experienced breakage in the past from over-manipulation, not doing enough protein treatments, and from using heavy deep conditioner masque without slip. I leave my hair alone now for at least 3-4 days before touching it, I do protein treatments once a month, and I only use hydrating deep conditioners because they have more slip and more water. Now I experience minimum breakage. I 💕 being natural!!!

Janet J. I use creme of nature argan oil collection intensive reconstructive conditioner. However I’m not really a big fan of it anymore because it contains a lot of silicone but my hair only excepts keratin protein, silk or wheat protein. It contains wheat protein and my hair loves wheat protein so I have to use it until I find something better. Believe me I’ve been searching high and low for better protein treatments that are light and deep penetrating without the extra silicones. Aphogee 2 step reconstructor is good but it contains collagen protein and collagen protein is too large for my fine strands and it doesn’t work for me but it may work for you.

    L. W. Sounds like our hair is very similar in that my hair only likes wheat, silk or keratin proteins. I used to buy wheat protein and add it to my own conditioner but I stooped because I ran out 👀. Not a good reason. 😆

This is a good video. But I find alot of people do not consider hard water a factor. This thing can be detrimental to hair growth. So if you live in a hard water area get a water softener or a shower head that softens the water as it comes out. Hard water causes serious breakage because of the metals/minerals that it deposits on the hair strands. When you shampoo your hair if its not made with surfactants that can fight against the hard water its not removing these deposits. I suffered from hard water damage but now my hair has made full recovery and is flourishing beautifully.

I’ve got a big chop 1yr before I left for Basic Military Training. For anyone familiar with how rigorous and fast paced it is... ( long story short) my TWA 4C low porosity hair suffered. It wasn’t until I arrived at my first duty station, I started learning natural hair terminology (beaded ends: single strand knots). Furthermore, it’s been 1.5yr and (still) learning millions of lessons about natural hair care do’s and don’t. My hair is now collar bone length and the crown is recovering so quickly following advice from naturals like you. Thank you 😊

Can you do a style video for formal events using natural hair? That’s my idea for a video. Thanks for the tips! Trimming hair has made such a wonderful and most welcome difference. You might have a scalp condition like seborrheic dermatitis or dandruff. Sometimes oiling your scalp makes it worse, also tight hairstyles and pulling your hair to harshly can make it worse. Also be careful of the type of cleansers you use. It might bot be cleansing your scalp properly especially if it has heavy butters and oils
