This has been the hardest power move for me for years. I almost quit because I couldn't get this move mastered. I could only do one rotation.The coordination is the challenge. In my opinion this might be the best tutorial on flares. Thanks.
Thank you for still making videos after all these years. I don’t break as much as I used to, but I’m glad you’re still teaching.
The Flare is the coolest move to watch ! Just Awesome 😎

Great video I loved it.
You are great teacher bro
*make a video about all your tricking videos* order them by what is easiest to begin with, what requires more strength, mobility or coordination etc. You have dozen of videos and i really want to begin learning, but i don't know with what. I am in good shape but have no tricking experience at all. Love your vids. Love your hobbies. Want them too.
I’m the 12th liker. Thank you so much Lucas! I always wanted to know how to do flares!
Good talk doawg! I am clearly way to weak and inflexible to even think about trying them but, hey, I did think about it!

Hello! I'm having trouble with my non master hand (left hand) i cant seem to properly land it on the sweeping motion any help i wanna learn flares so bad :(
Warmed up to this now I’m bout to go skate📍
fresh hair cut man, looking good
Yo! Good stuff. I agree with the stretching topic. I heard about if you stretch before a workout(weight lifting) you're actually weaker. I'm not 100% sure if that's true. I understand why I heard it though. Let's say we are weaker. I think with an effective approach to hitting those moves is still very good. That means do your best to have good technique. For anyone having trouble(like me) with stretching, try dynamic stretches after that 15 min warm up. There's a difference between static and dynamic stretching. I think static is stationary stretching. While dynamic is kind of like doing wide armed push up, jumping jacks, squats, etc.

Zen says too much warm up and stretching is not advisable in weight lifting. And power lifting.
keep it up bro
what else excercises can we do to build up strenght to achieve flares
You're good man
this last tip was so useuful holy crap

Dam, this guy can really teach!
I always love when he says "bUt yOu gOtTa focus"
Thanks
What's that muscle in the back of my armpit that burns while doing this? I've been trying to get the straddle hold but realized cause my L sit is weak
FOCUS!!!!
Thanks so moch
I've learned flares in a month, but it's been 2 years now and I still don't have clean flares, they're high and my foot doesn't touch the ground, but when I go to the back of the flare, I still tuck my leg in, I guess I'm just not flexible enough, can barely do a 45° when I'm doing that leg stretch. I can do 2 flares, 5 at most, but after 2, my legs get lower. I'll definitely try these tips, thank man!
you are EXTREMELY funny. thank you
thanks bro
What do you do if your arms are the same length as your butt when you depress your shoulders? I don't get any height when I do that.
My first leg that kicks up isn’t kicking up hard enough. Is this a strength thing or a flexibility thing?
You are the best
You're awesome
Wow your amazing
800K subs!

first day an i can't even do the half flare is it normal?it looks so easy when u are doing it :p
@killaure3347
6 жыл бұрын
it is normal, it will take 2-3 weeks minimum of 20-30min of daily pratice to achieve ONE clean round, then some what more time to achieve multiple rounds. (1 clean round took me 1 month, >5 almost a year)

I'm slow so it took me years, though I didn't practice consistently and importantly, didn't have anyone to learn them from. Listen to the advice in this video, he offers some of the best practical info about the planche and shoulder positioning.
Which is the last played song?

This guy is cool
I'm still learning
Pigmie do a windmill i still need to Learn
Yesss
I study capoeira & i stretch after a worm up. When my muscles are stretched and loose, i spent less energy moving my body. Not stretching kills %40 of my stamina. Its harder kicking with stiff muscles. But thats just me i guess
What i hate is that i cant learn faking any flips or learn break dance moves because i cant spread my legs wide enough.
Practice and target 😁
“Their like, Yea dog” lmao!

The flare is the coolest

What’s harder: straddled leg flares or paired leg flares (gymnastics flares)?
@brianbelcher7279

Mikey Merritt ? Gymnasts do flares with legs split. Legs together are circles
@kawika2974
6 жыл бұрын
Good question. I've seen bboys who can do one and not the other. If someone has good form with one, I would think they'd technically be able to do both equally well.
@MacMac1313
6 жыл бұрын
Kawika Not true. I learned how to flare black in 2003 and within a few months learned how to do multiples. As I learned them and tried Virgin flares ( closed leg, circles ) I noticed that doing one rotation coming from a flare is easy but going into a virgin from standing ( New Yorker style ) or from the ground it takes much more momentum, flexibility, core and forearm strength. Which is why many bboys can't do them. This strength is to be developed on bars workouts along with wrist, and finger flexibility exercises. Kujo has a guide on here for UFOs. Which help develop wrist and forearm strength for Virgin flares. A move he himself can do.
800000subs brudda🔥

Could you do a video on wether supplements(like Whey protein and creatine)are necessary or not?🙏
@loominaty8123
6 жыл бұрын
Jon Wick they are definitely not necessary. If you want a little more protein in your diet you could take some whey protein but creatine is no where near necessary. Getting your daily recommended protein is very much achievable without supplements.
@yoohoonobody469

loo minaty Yup, and too much protein can actually be unhealthy
cant do tuck planche... can L sit for 3 sec but I can manage 3 flares and im 1.88cm 90kg :) Flares come withh practice of tht specific motion so your brain remember to activate the right muscles and use momentum instead of strenght. My opinion :) 10 years later and I can do like 2 now but still not even close to tuck planche.
Bro how much weight required to do flares
@thesleeplesscoben

As long you're not TOO heavy or heavy to the point where you can't support your own bodyweight you should be fine.
