Honestly, the health bar dictating a vehicles mechanical function is the stupidest thing they could of done. The helicopters are an amazing new addition, and this had so much potential. Honestly, this is such a shame. They'll learn that this isn't what people wanted by the lack of sales.

Call to Arms had a campaign and first person mode, and improved graphics and engine. It doesn't suffer any of these stupid issues. I have no idea how they could go backwards like this. Surely a cold war expansion would have been a great addition to CtA? Or it could have been done in that series instead? It is just a better Men of War.

They promised everyone who bought the CtA Alpha would get the full game and then just gave them a shitty starter edition and released the other factions as DLC, they are nothing more than an EA/Bethesda copycat studio marketing off a previous game that was good

The MoW series was built on a “realistic” depiction of combat. Them introducing health bars to vehicles and dumbing down the ‘content’ it offers was a massive mistake on their part. Unfortunately that seems to be the trend DMS has taken on recently, ignoring what’s left of their community in an attempt to get some extra cash.

​@@battleangel4833 Literally the only problem I have with Greedfall is simply the not so super modern textures but again made by 20 people and modders can fix it, but my really only actual gripe is simply the fact the talking animation is pretty bad for a modern game. Like I can excuse not super high quality textures but like for a talking animation all you really need for super realistic one is to do face capture while you VA do their lines (face capture is pretty cheap nowadays, I mean hell you can do it with pretty much ever new cell phone and it isn't like I am asking for a photo realistic just a more realistic then everyone what we got) Otherwise it is still a fantastic game and I love it.

@@matthewjones39 The M113 isn't a combat vehicle technically, it can defend itself but its primary purpose was to get infantry squads to the fight and then bravely run away because the skin of the vehicle was too thin and light to defend against anything larger than small arms fire.

Only allowed to choose USA as player force, tanks can't do shit to other tanks. Feels like someone tried to make a statement and someone else had a different opinion about it. That pause and being able to admire the explosion in it's full from all sides is the best feature of the game.

The worst thing that they added to this series is the health bar, men of war assault squad 2 with mods like robs is a genuinely good experience but the devs are now focusing on making barley playable games with micro transactions

10:26 Turns out this is indeed what the VDV calls strategy, and it went about as well for them in Ukraine as it did here.

thats really sad, i have really fond memories of being one of the best players on the 2nd one(and whatever red tide was, i think that was just a campaign), this was before assault squad one came out and that one was so great to lay ambushes for people, I would hardly use tanks unless I was covering a wide open area because anything a tank could do, one single dude with a Molotov can do better. Most games id kill 2 or 3x of anyone else in the game and lose hardly any points because the only unit id use was the super spammy light russian inf because every single dude had 2 molotovs which just one could kill a tank or an entire squad of inf and just spread them out Mix in flame throwers, a few at guns, and a couple of light vehicles that can plug gaps quickly was the most op strat ever.

They havent made any graphical improvements and performance progress since Faces of War (2006), me and my friend was astonished how you could drive a tank through a building or even extract ammo from it and blow it up outside of the tank, the physics was very impressive, but we had then like 10-20 fps or even low, it was just tragic..

It's crazy how a game that looks so amazing especially for when it was made, has some how regressed

so they went from ultra realistic losing your tanks across the town to some world of tanks bullshit with healthbars for tanks... glad this landed in my recommended i was going to buy this crap

The rotors on that helicopter are dummy thicc and the clap if it’s wingy cheeks is alerting the RPGs

I mean Company of Heroes also has health bars for their armor, but then again Tank vs Tank has a lot more impact and it has such things as side and rear armor weaknesses as well as the fact that hand-held AT is not the end-all for Tanks.

Some day i want to have as much courage as the developers had when they sent out REVIEW COPIES FOR THIS GAME.

They could have so easily added the new graphic improvements and such into men of war assault squad too, not only bringing back one of the best RTS games but giving us a RTS we so desperately need and want...

My friend played it on release day and he must have fought a soviet heli with a vietnamese pilot cuz he could hear the chopper but couldnt see it until it had killed all his crewman from behind

The first two were good. Men of war 2 was fairly good. I just wish I'd gotten to play more with water stuff like that battle barge you could find on one of the maps of the first game possibly only after the patch that added the Japanese army.

How is this such a Trainwreck, MOWAS2 is good.

I am very early. And just whenI I was about to leave. Meh, socializing can wait.

Also just to add to my last comment, I think giving the vehicles a health bar is meant to reduce the amount of times where in assault squad as an example tanks even the heavy tanks would be knocked out/destroyed with just one or two AP rounds but they did it in such a shitty way, they could have had the health bar but make it so that AP rounds did more damage not chipping away at it!

That moment you realize MOWAS is just reskinned Faces of War... I was kinda expecting this.

A worse version of Call to Arms and call to arms is free

Rimmy, dude, I hope you'll read this. So. The apc mechanics in all MoW games that I know are that when you press G, you select not the LZ, but the RP after landing. You have to move your vech to where you want to unload (RMB click there) and then unload (Shift+G+LMB where you want to send your troops after they arrive). Ples read it, maybe let know if you have done na d feel free to ask, I might know some 1% of useful info. Regards UwU

honestly the updates fixed some of the stuff, and removed the health bar and became more like as2 but i didn't want as2 i wanted improved as2, i wanted air AI and for people to mod air ai from cold war to as2, also call to arms started as an unplayable piece of junk, and right now its been fixed too, don't get me wrong i hate that now games do this type of shit but mow did it for a long time, i'm in no position to say if what mow does is bad or its okay because of what type of game it is so yeah i'm just the messenger

I feel sad, I really love the original mow games, this is just embarrasing
