@@blunderingfool It honestly is a LOT like Commandos, but with an inventory so you can grab fresh gear off soldiers you kill... or... give all of your company's gear to one man and pull an Amphibious assault. Like Commandos, it's really better if you mainly use 1 soldier and just have others hide or support them from cover.

Well doing some homework on the Soviet orders, decorations and so on. I've deduced these medals: Hero of the Soviet Union 2x Awarded Order of Lenin 2x Awarded Order of the Red Star 3x Awarded (If he survived WW2 to 1945) - Order of the Patriotic War Order of Alexander Nevsky 2nd Class Order of Kutuzov 1st Class, two classes Order of Glory 1st Class, all 3 classes Order "For Service to the Homeland in the Armed Forces of the USSR" Literally Lazar met all criteria for these medals. Lazar IS the Red Army.

Lazar is a true main character, a masterful sniper, doing it all by himself and driving his infamous Kubelwagen. Probably my favorite video game hero.

Kubelwagen directly translates to "Jeep of Deutschland" I know this because I made it up.

The saddest moment of this video was Lazar ditching the Kübelwagen for an Opel Blitz…

This reminds me of an anecdote my grandfather used to tell. His neighbor in the small village where he grew up had somehow gotten hold of a Kübelwagen after the war, which he parked in the barn. One day in the morning, the poor guy grazed the barn door as he was driving out, and that was the end of him. And the barn. It took like half a year to clear all of the rubble. Anyway, I don't think there are any Kübelwagen around any more. The Verfassungsschutz tracked down and scrapped the last ones during the 70s.

This reminds me of playing Codename: Panzers as a kid. I was obsessed with spamming infantry with as much kit as i could fit (mines, grenades, anti tank, flamethrowers) and hiding them in buildings to ambush and hijack tanks.

I was actually very surprised there was no kubelwagen mod for PZ, I am sure that I have seen a sherman and sdkfz in there before. Or at least I couldn't find it.

Growing up i spent a scary amount of time in the men of war "gem editor" making missions for myself because I enjoyed the game so much. Wish MOW as well as company of hero's were in better shape now a days.... Always love your content! Thanks

The entire Men At War series is excellent. MaW2 mods are also freaking crazy good. Warhammer 40k, Star Wars. CoD modern warfare. Seriously worth checking out if you’re into RTS. The higher difficulties are actually tough for AI. Then you look at TW and realize they are more than capable of developing a competent AI just refuse to.

Sounds like you basically made your own Call of Duty style story mode in this game genre lol.

This game is a hidden treasure. I've found it by randomly checking boxes with CD/DVD's in the shop. Direct control mode transforms the game in the top down third person shooter, kinda Call of Duty: United Offense but better.

Love the irony of the mid-war Soviet Union sending a singular, extremely well-equipped sneaky sniper to flank around the front and get behind enemy lines to rescue captured POWs, really captures how the Soviets did things back then

Its hilarious to me that this is a challenge cuz this is actually how I use to play. I couldn't be fucked to maneuver all my troops together so I would just load up one soldier at a time and go as far in as I could lol

I started shouting "GET TO DA KUBLWAGEN!" midway through the video and now I fear I may never stop.

Sniper Elite 3 looks sick AF

I remember finding men of war red tide on my families old 2007 computer that ran slower than a lawnmower, it was nearly as old as me, but men of war was great, cool game that my dad passed on

The second mission reminded me of an old Commodore 64 game called Airborne Ranger. I really enjoyed that game as a kid.

The way this game looks kind of reminds me of iron harvest, you should play it if you get a chance, the dieselpunk Mechas are really badass
