Why you should never buy a used Mercedes S600

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

They may be cheap to buy on the used market, but they will cost you big time when it comes to maintenance!

I've owned my S65 for a few years now. All you need to do is buy an aftermarket warranty. It pays for itself within the first few repairs. Plus if you do your own maintenance work, they're really not that scary. Granted, you really have to be in love with the car to go through the trouble but for me it's worth it. 716hp and 908 lb/ft of torque is addicting.

  • @lexgsj

@@abdullahelhashimy7115 the 65 engine has been tuned by AMG. It's a 6.0 litre instead of the 5.5 litre in the 600. There are also differences in the way the suspension is tuned. You can tune the 600 engine to the power output of the 65 but you can't go much beyond that and keep the reliability.

@@abdullahelhashimy7115 if you're looking for more comfort you're better off going with the S600. The ride is softer than the 65. The engines are the same as far as reliability. The weak point of these cars is the ignition system on the engines and the ABC if it's not maintained regularly. ABC fluid should be flushed and filter changed every 20k to 30k miles.

I’m gonna go for it. I’m done with my 2012 Range Rover Supercharged. Owned since new with 147k on it. At this mileage nothing is needed since I’ve replaced most parts over the years. S600 is on the list, also a donor s600 shell for parts.

You can buy an inexpensive S class, but you will still be maintaining a $160k car…having owned the S600 and S65 w221 they can break some people…if a $5,000 repair scares you stick to Toyotas and Hondas….

should've tried the s65, I have an 07 and it hasn't been cheap but I bought it cash for 20 with 80k for miles, she's at 105 now and running great but I have sunk at least ten into her minimum but I see a place that rebuilds the struts cheap and they're better than factory standard so I know even if that fails im still good without spending too much more and I know the engine will go at least 400k with service

You sound like a real honest guy , 5 to that, but this topic really is exhausting to listen to really, like guys 600 is a car like you said 170-200k car so parts prices are regarded to that, so if you get it for 30 and gotta put 10 in it you are still good off because its still a 170-200k value. I just dont understand people who drive F150, Corolla and Buicks ,they do there oil change like 12-15k miles and when they purchase a high end Mercedes etc and complain they gotta put some money in to them, like what did you expect? To get a 150k car for 20k and then enjoy it the same way the guy who paid it 150k did? No it doesnt work like that

It doesn't matter which other cars he owns, it's very clear when someone doesn't respect a vehicle and that is fine as well (each to his own), but then don't expect the vehicle to treat you well. One of my dailies is a 2008 S600 and i keep my hand on it, don't over abuse it and it's been great.
