From 6 months post op I have used the Leg Extension machine once a week...of course I do not do a lot of weight ( 4 sets of 10)...I am at 18 months and will continue this exercise as long as I can.

This is right on time! Im coming up on 1 yr post op & was wondering how much longer do i need to keep stretching. I usually try to hit every other day for 15-20 minutes. Especially on days when it feels tight. I’ll try to hit once a day. 👍🏼

All good advice for sure however engaging in an active physical lifestyle such as bike riding, and elimination of all sugar, toxins, and ultra processed food will significantly reduce inflammation will enhance your recovery. I am in day 12 of a total left knee replacement and in PT 3 times a week. I am already 114 degrees flex. Riding my bike 20 minutes each day. Use no aids to walk with. My game plan is to get released by my surgeon as soon as possible. I got clearance to drive yesterday. I focused on building up quality leg and calf muscles preop and it’s really paying off.

When I do a lunge on a box my husband made it’s the height of a stair and I can bend it prob to 130 but when I do it with the chair it doesn’t flex as much but I can sure feel the stretch I can flatten my knee out to zero on the bed. I’m 3 1/2 months post opt on second knee

The Ideal Knee that you have recommended helped me immensely. I am 8 weeks out. I was given 2 weeks to avoid an MUA. I ordered the device, used it and at my appointment today he was very happily surprised. No mua for me. So thank you!

    It’s the ideal stretcher. www.amazon.com/dp/B096L3DDJ3?maas=maas_adg_F85181EAB93853DE4D0C86E45E480D8E_afap_abs&ref_=aa_maas&tag=maas

You can around the incision but not on top of it yet. If you have any scabs left, you’ll want to wait till they are completely gone and healed before using lotions.

It took me 7 days to lift my leg . I thought it was never going to lift then suddenly it just lifted I couldn’t believe it. Every day something happens it may be a little thing but it a positive. 4 months on something positive still happens. You suddenly do something automatically. Keep doing the exercises. Eli ate and ice if necessary. I do .

A week after my TKR, I still cannot lift my leg vertically off the bed. If I make a huge effort it might lift by a fraction of an inch but gets agonising pain under the kneecap. Has anyone else experienced this or is something wrong?
