If the Camaros didn't come with AFM and direct injection it would be a better car than the Mustang. They look good and are a excellent platform. No hate here just facts that while in warrenty those 2 issues will plague the GM v8 more so than the 5.0s. I would hate to buy a 45k car only to learn you have to do a Cam swap and lifters and void warrenty all together just to make it reliable like previous GM v8 used to be. R.I.P Camaro.

There’s nothing wrong with direct injection, mustangs have them too it’s what makes these new cars special. It allows for wicked good compression ratios on pump gas and it’s overall more efficient than port injection in most applications. Get an oil catch can and your good too go.

As someone who likes EVs there’s just something about a good old V8 that’s brutal. EVs have no personality. It’s sad to see ICE go away. I wish the Camaro could stay but hey, hopefully ford keeps it alive. I look forward to driving the Dark Horse

They have the same engine, if anything the SS might be a tad slower due to it having more amenities on the interior like heated seats etc. that would increase the weight but you honestly wouldn’t even notice a difference in performance
