why you should do summer camps for college apps \ A.I. camp review

It's too late for me to add these to my college app activity list, but you might be able to!
Here's the camp I went to: www.ai-camp.org/
the other reason why it's so great is because of the internship opportunity as well as part-time jobs that you can apply to even while you're still in high school

unfortunately im not rich, and nor are my parents willing to invest thousands of dollars in a one month online camp. It's ridiculuous that colleges value monetary advantages over actual self-made successes.

I got in with financial aid! If you're low income feel free to apply !!! but I beg to differ, college's may care about the success that some monetary advantages bring, but if you self-made something that succeeded ( I made a fiscal sponsored project, aka non profit, that was on my top 3 for my activity list with 0 money invested on my part except for hours of time. None of my parents or any family have experience in startups. This camp didn't make it that far on the list (if it even did idr lol) but it's skills def made me more technically fluent imo

You can find more information about what I wrote on my college applications in my stats video, and what I wrote about in my essays in the other essay videos :) But long story short, I knew of this opportunity after I graduated high school, but hopefully, more people can take this opportunity and grow with it. And no, it was on AI Camp, inspirit AI seems to be interesting as well though!

I do want to add, that rather than camps from well-known institutions, focus more on which summer camps can give you more activities related to that field that you can put on your activity list (for ex, the camp offers internships and part-time jobs). AI camp was founded by a Stanford Ph.D., but that just happened to be a coincidence why I chose this camp really. Mainly it was beneficial if I could get an internship and/or part-time job in the future while I'm at college

How did you apply through financial aid as a low income family? Is there a link?

it's through fafsa and I think you do have to upload your documents on the school's portals and it was a hassle as I remember. It's the same for low income or not low income though
