Why You Should Be Trail Running

Trail running allows its participant to form a unique connection with nature. A select group of individuals express how trail running enables them to "decompress from the day," and how the activity acts as "mental therapy."

That sums it up. I wonder why this video exists, as though running in the countryside is something new and not something that possibly millions do worldwide already.

Yousha Ahmad I'm very happy to see that you have that access to nature like so (as it is implied). But for those of us who barely have any access to nature need a reminder once in a while. And videos such as this serves as such a reminder.

BlueBetaPro It's like the rebranding of 'outdoor swimming' as 'wild swimming'. I love going out to lakes and rivers for a swim, but if that doesn't appeal to you in itself, a new name is unlikely to cause you to develop a lasting passion for it.

Stephanie L Rebranding isn't usually intended with developing lasting passion. Rebranding is meant to increase that initial attraction to the product on sale.

LuiKang043 Rebranding can be done for either reason. The point is that the activity itself hasn't changed - it's just a trendy new name hipsters are using for something that has been done for ages.

I recently discovered trail running for myself and absolutely fell in love with it. I ran in different landscapes, starting at lush pastures, to forests, to deserts and dry ridges. Did both morning and night runs. Every run is unique. Every run is perfect. To really enjoy running, one should understand what he or she is running for. Those who do it, just for the sake of it, will never understand what trail running is really about. You do connect with the earth under the soles of your shoes. This is where we belong. On a side note, pouring any amounts of alcohol into your body, after an exercise is a bad habit. Same goes for smoking. Wait At least an hour or two before poisoning yourself. Cheers.

I've hiked these same trails and have seen people trail running in increased numbers. Seems like it would be really fun but also perhaps dangerous, especially if you catch a protruding root or lose your footing and end up tumbling down a ravine at running speed.
