I really believe that before get married both man and woman must mandatorily go through test, and not just HIV test, also HPV test, Herpes test, Chlamidya test, Gonnorhea test etc, basically every sexual transmitted test. And the test results should be mail to BOTH parties.

Have lah. Google online. “In September 2020, the Ministry of Health (MOH) added 16 anti-retroviral medications to its Standard Drug List (SDL) of subsidised medications and Medication Assistance Fund (MAF). This means that Singapore Citizens (SCs) and Permanent Residents (PRs) living with HIV will receive 50% to 75% of subsidies to help afford their medication, the exact subsidy amount is subject to means-testing. “

Am working in healthcare too. I genuinely think we ought to have more education on other STDs too. Especially how herpes has become very prevalent. I’ve seen patients who have abruptly gotten it from others, but also patients who have given it to others. No judgement on my side ether way. But in SG I feel we do not learn about these enough, and we also do not learn about herpes vaccinations in schools. I also have friends my age (30s) who have herpes but think it is okay to not tell their partners because apparently HCWs didn’t emphasize on the need to and ‘downplay’ on the seriousness to put patients at ease. It is also very tough to tell them as friends and I feel they’d listen better to professionals. I put that instead of downplaying we ought to normalise STDs like any disease and to educate on the symptoms and how to deal with them (that it is like any disease, and comes with its set of symptoms and ways to navigate).
