This little light has quickly become one of my favorite pieces of equipment. Easily the best light for the money out there.

    Thanks for the comment. Glad it helped. Not sure how the modeling light on the AD200 works but it might be a better choice. Although it is bigger. A little.

    Sure I'm late, but for decent readers: the AD200 has a nearly similar to this ~2W modeling light that is available in a fresnel head only, so we still can't get benefits of a bare bulb while using a modeling light. The LED attachment outputs around 3.6W, but has no flash tube, and a round head attachment seems to have a centered, more usable 3-steps modeling light up to around 4W of power, but considering the cost, maybe better buy the AD300 with tripple the power of an AD100Pro and a 12W bi-LED lamp. Just thinking aloud. 😌 @Todd_Kuhns

    @@dandanu2526 at 9:10 he shows the bulky heavy stupid bowens mount adapter you have to use otherwise. the Angler DOES NOT have this. it's got the profoto a2 insert which the ad100 is a direct clone of, where it just magnetically snaps in and is light weight and convenient . This being a spot and not bare bulb, a negative for softboxes with hotspot, requires double diffusion WHICH, the angler 28 also has.... therefore it is the best softbox if you really need softboxes. i would just use an umbrella personally.

    Bought the Godox AD100 Pro for my camera flash bracket, whenever I photograph weddings or events. Definitely, more powerful than any hot shoe flashes and more flexible. I use the Godox X2T transmitter on my camera to control it. The weight of the flash is actually less than the Godox V1 and more rigid on the bracket, since there is no hot shoes to deal with.

    I have been trying to picture your set up since I first read the comment. I think it sounds rather brilliant. I love my V1s but I have heard a lot of people complain about the hot shoe. I've have not had that problem but the fact is that any speed lite is weak at that point to a degree and if the connection isn't working you're in trouble. I love your set up and am guessing it works very well. Probably allows the room to use a lot of different modifiers if you want as well.

I can only close this manually from the button! I don't know what it could be, the lamp button in the Godox X1T is OFF. Is it worth upgrading from a Godox V1 ? Or Should I go directly for an AD200 pro ?

  • @Todd_Kuhns

    @Todd_Kuhns

    Жыл бұрын

    The V1 is a great light. The 100 and 200 are not speed lights like the V1 so there is that difference for what that is worth. The V1 is probably about 75 watt seconds in power so the 100 is slightly more and the 200 is a full stop more powerful than the 100. Both the 100pro and 200pro are great lights. The 100 is smaller and takes the same attachments that I put on my V1. I think I talked about those attachments and how I really like them. You can buy the same round head/attachment for the 200 but that increases the cost. So, to answer your question, if you don't mind the little bit bigger size of the 200 and it fits your budget the 200 is probably a good fit. However, I don't think you will be disappointed with the 100. It is my workhorse when it comes to lighting, I'd like to have two or three more.
