“We just grew up.” That swept me off my feet. For years I’ve been trying to figure out why I’m not as excited to play sso and why most of my past sso friendships have deteriorated. And you hit the nail on the head. It really hurts to realize that we’ve... grown up. I started playing sso a year or so after it first came out. I was so excited to jump on my starter Skygazer and go watch the morning haze turn to a clear day. And you’re right. Back then my life was simpler. No college prep, crushing stress, or existential crises. It was just, like I was “there.” In the moment. Not worried about where I would be 5 years from then, not what I was going to do for the rest of my life, I was just thinking about wether I wanted to talk to Fripp or go Roleplay. And every time I see clips of the old sso, the more I wish I could go back, even for a moment. Gosh I hate growing up. If you’re a kid reading this, please hold tight to “the good old days.” Because they pass by too fast, and they may never happen again.

Also the game has became too directed to kids and it kinda ruined it. Idk If I'm alone in this but the quests etc. Why did they add Jojo Siwa to the game when she has nothing to do with horses? Just to attract her young fans. Sso has became so money hungry and the game isn't even worth the much higher prices

4 years ago i had a lot of friends, we’d call and play like every night. they all stopped playing, we’re all 14/15/16 now. and whenever i played sso 4 years ago, i just got this “feeling” or something.. but that feeling is gone and it wont get back. its insane how sso played such a big role in my life even though its just a horse game lol. i just miss the good ol’ times. everything was so easy

i agree. I have been playing since 2014 too and i am level 19. I just miss all the old times It isn't really star stable all the looks. Well. I do miss some of them but it's mostly because the community was so nice back then...I was online a few seconds ago and they all were just swearing in the chat and were laughing because they could swear...I don't know what happened to star stable. I'm not saying star stable itself is bad but the community is.

Whenever I hear the moorland music it makes me feel complete and young. Again ..... ❤️❤️❤️❤️😭

I actually started crying. I went straight to my computer, logged on, got my starter horse, leveled him to 15, and just ran around 💗 It was the first time in 4 years 🥺 It felt amazing!

Star Stable is still an amazing game and there are a lot of adult players. (We even have SSO FB groups). I'm 26 myself and I have been playing Star Stable since 2012 or something. Yes, life gets harder and you get your own bills to pay, but Star Stable should and could still be that save haven to relax.

Omg I’m 26 and started playing around the same time you did! And yes I still play and have made new friends on the game. I may not have as much time to invest into the game as I used to, but I still enjoy it just wish there were more quests because being level 21 gets a tad boring sometimes

I remember just starting in September 2015..I refused to do Jenna’s race abd tried to sneak out to go to the ocean by foot only to find out that I couldn’t swim. I remember buying lifetime in 2016 and getting my first horse, Darkshade, a thoroughbred. I remember learning how to jump at Steve’s. Niw everyone can jump. Even level 1 players. I remember the Snow in Jorvik. The Santa Claus in Jarlaheim. I remember winning my first championship at Jorvik stables. I remember buying my first shire. I remember buying my first friesian. My first time going into VHD. I remember saving my horse from the ship. I remember always going to the ways to Silverglade and Firgrive everyday to see if they unlocked. I remember being excided in school to come home, log in and get the daily clothing item from SSO’s 4th Birthday. I remember nit knowing what stats were and just being happy that I’ve got an extra stylish saddle, bridle, saddle pad, and so on. I remember being so stressed out that I didn’t have Star Coins to buy a pony and complete the Pony race. I remember not liking the appearance and name of my starter and trying to find out a way to change them. I remember the joy from when I was allowed to go to Fort Pinta.. I remember the first time going and racing with Reed Kesler in the Riding Hall, not Riding Arena. I remember hiw annoyed I was everytime I fell of the bridge while going to Fort Pinta. I remember my first Ferry ride to South Hoof. I remember the annoying ginger cat from the loading screen telling me something I’ve heard 10000 times already. I remember how fun it was to go to the disco at night and dancing. I remember how fun it was to do the craziest, and I mean craziest things with your clubmates...I miss the old community... I miss the old Star Stable.

"You don't miss the old Star Stable, You miss the old times". FINALLY someone who explains why maybe Star Stable Online was more fun back in the old days. I've been playing since the beginning of January 2012 and have gone through it all. But I don't miss the old Star Stable Online, the game is MUCH better now! I've just miss the excitement of just run to the computer after a day at school. Now, I don't have the time or I'm just to tired.. Star Stable Online is still a super fun game and I love to play it and I'm 22 years old now. And it will take a lot for me to stop playing Star Stable Online altogether. Love the video!

I remember the older memories... How Loretta was so rude.. Now, she doesn't seem the same.. I remember hanging out with friends.. They have sadly quit.. I miss the old feeling.. The game Star Stable was getting better.. Yes, I was happy for it.. I'm sure many people were.. But now looking at it.. There's to many areas being updated.. It loses the older vibe.. My life was getting harder and harder daily... Sometimes, I would log on SSO to be greeted by my friends.. They always kept me happy and all.. But now.. There gone.. Whenever I log on SSO it makes me nearly cry.. Seeing how bad the game has gotten.. The new starter horses that look WAY to much like the trake.. Your life may get harder... It will! I'm with you with all my heart ❤ You perfectly summed it up - it loses older vibe. It has lost all of the iconic things that were making this game complete. It also makes me nearly cry, seeing how bad the game has gotten, and that I can't tell what is the real reason behind it. Did they change all/most/some of their employees? Or maybe just studio's heads/directors/CEO? I can't really tell, but I wish I could know.

I didn’t get to experience it for long, when I first started I only had 1 day before it was gone, then later star stable said they weren’t going to do snow, I was devastated and now the Christmas decorations don’t go with the greenery ☹️

I miss the times when I just to spend every hour after school playing sso up until I had to go to bed, and when I had to stress eat my dinner bc I didn’t wanna miss the club event, and when I used to skype with friends I met through sso everyday, and when I got so excited bc a big “famous” club accepted me into the club, and when I used to post on my sso Instagram everyday telling everyone what I’d been up to that day. I simply miss the old startstable.

I actually miss the way characters and Soulriders' horses looked like. Not the poor graphic, just the artstyle because it was like in the comics and the old games like Starshine Legacy. Back when I started playing Star Stable I was so mesmerized by it that I did a research, read and watched everything I could find about Jorvik and now it just doesn't feel the same, which doesn't mean I don't appreciate the improvement, James looks like a human now and I think Lisa's new appearance fits her better, it's just not the same. Oh and by the way, I noticed a lot of people misses the loading screen with the ginger cat, but am I the only one who remembers that his name is Rufus?

I really like Starshine legacy! I just got a certain feeling when I watched people play it. ( I never played it myself.) But I've watched people play the whole game. I don't know but I just seem to like Starshine legacy more. It feels so much more exciting. I'm not saying I don't like sso, I just prefer Starshine legacy more.

i dont miss old star stable, only the community and a few other things: - snow in jorvik: when they stopped my heart broke because it was always the most prettiest time of the year - old loading screen: the loading screen where you came out of the stable and go to the cat. honestly this was always so amazing

I miss the snow soooo much it was like amazing when it first came out for the year and then started to get annoying in January and then the sensation on the grass was so nice and it kept the beauty of Jorvik new and exciting

I first started playing SSO in late 2013 and I kinda missed the old SSO, but at least it is updated and my computer doen't crash every hour because of the graphics of the game

i miss the old feeling when you walk on the beach in fort pinta and everything!!!You are so good at thiis!

omg I actually cried its so damn true all this time I wasn't really missing the old game i was missing the old times the times where I was so exited to get out of school to play star stable with my online friends or when I was so exited to get the horse I really liked or when my parents bought star coins for me. My little sister really likes to play the game now too and its reminding me of the old times I really miss them and I wish I can just feel that feeling once more..but I can't

It's true...Starstable makes the snow come back SOMETIMES but not as often as back then...I just miss it

I miss the old sso.. They release too many horses so a new horse isn’t something cool anymore something you see on most every day And I try my best to enjoy it. I remember 6 years ago.. im not complaining, much parts are better! I only stated these parts.

I hate they release new horses so often it makes you feel like they do this just to make you buy star coins so they can get some money ik they need money to keep up the business but still it just makes you scream in your head until you beg for star coins

@@Boarchy when I was a kid all I would buy was horses that had long manes lol if I didnt like the mane I'd change it to a longer one my star coins would be gone instantly seriously though I would beg they need to stop if they want money so bad then they can get money from the bank then pay the bank back not release almost everything for star coins

@@Boarchy old star stable was a lot better to me then sso now I wish they added a special server or version of sso so we could go back to the old days..

I really miss it. I just cant stay in a clan beacuse its not like the old sso, not the game, not the players. I really miss my old friends, how we was roleplaying day in and day out, and get to know each other. I just miss it.

I started playing sso when i was 11, now im 17. Thank you so much for this video, it means a lot to me. Im so happy that i played in the best sso times. This game will always have a small place in my heart.. miss my sso friends so much, clubs, meetings, bugs, old horses. But Im thankful for my dear friend who i met four years ago and still have very good friendship. Thank you sso for memories, childhood, mistakes, good times... this game teached me a lot:)

I don't believe there was a international server, maybe region-vide server (like west/east europe) so there's people from different countries like we had people from finland, denmark, iceland, sweden, portugal, belgium, south africa. There hasn't been international servers I believe, but there was and actually has still "international" servers which have countries on a same region xD

this is so true, i miss my old friends, i miss the times i was so extra into this game even though i wasn’t star rider, i remember the times when it was free only to level 4 and me and my friends ‘illegaly’ went to Silverglade Castle♥️ or the times when I finally made the key into Goldenhills🥺 when I was so happy that my mum bought me Star Rider ahhh😞♥️ now players there are mean to each other, a lot of things are explained...but I still love it♥️

I miss just being excited to play the game. playing sso every night after school. I miss the old login screen and the old pink loading screen. And I miss my old horses because now it’s not cool to ride the older versions. 😭

BRO JUST EVEN THINKING OF KZreadRS WHO WERE AMAXING BUT QUIT LIKE "RadioaCtive3" or "Lillian Magpie" I was very young when I got sso, I didn't understand the concept of good names on a horse, I remember not knowing what updates were, so when the shire popped up I sort of just said "ooh that'pretty, I want it, and named it midnightbeam in the second grade and I KNOW that because I made a poem about her. I remember sometimes getting up on days where we had a snow delay and since I was on a pst server, being able to see the nighttime or early morning was a treat. There were bad experiances with people I shouldnt have trusted but all in all I think I wouldn't have been as understanding of conversations as I am today without those moments. I remember having to glitch to become a wild horse and I remember desperately asking where the Icelandics were even though I had not opened Epona. I REMEMBER the days 5000 starcoins were only 60 dollars instead of the 75 or something they are now. I miss it, but childhood is special for a reason. I remember when the headless horseman was put in the halliween update and you could find him galloping around in vale. I remember RadioaCtive making a video about that "player" who would steal your horses but you could always find her somewhere in vale. Everyone looked for her and even though it was simply a myth, those were the amazing days of childhood.

I started in 2014..I thought the graphics was ok.. Everyone rode a starter model horse.😂 But we didn't care? Nope. I loved the creepy music when you did story quests.. And the pink loading screen.. And getting annoyed by the cat telling us the same over and over.😅 Then I took a break since I had done everything. Then I come back in 2016.. Wow. I got a shock!😂 SO MANY BEAUTYFUL HORSES!😍 And the quests got cooler. But now, we have seen everything.😶 Nothing impresses us anymore.🤷🏻‍♀️ Back in 2014, we all had lower expectations.🤨 Back old days it wasn't many online games where you could game with other people..😯 And it wasn't many games with great graphics..🙃 And not many people played then..😄 So you knew almost everyone on your server.💕 And now, it's a LOT of people playing, and therefor more drama.😓 Thats probably why many of us miss old sso.. 😫 I like the new graphics, but the old memories died with the old graphics. (Might sound very dramatic😂) I like the new horses, but I can't forget how much we loved the old model horses when they first arrived. The new horses isn't the same.. But personally I like the old animations for our character better..😂 Not the old, old one. The 2016 animations.. Idk.. Now they have very clumsy run. And diva walk.😂🤷🏻‍♀️ Buuut we were giraffes in 2016 lol.👌🏻 Remember how we couldn't wait for saving Anne?🤔 But if you ask me, I think it was more fun to look forward to rescue her than to actually do it.🤨🤷🏻‍♀️ And Epona.. Ofc.. Remember how much we all wanted Epona to arrive..😂 Well, how often are you actually in Epona now?🤔 Now we have seen everything..we are no longer looking forward to anything.. Mist Fall wasn't the same as Epona.. The new andalusians aren't the same as how happy we was with the old ones.

I missed old SSO. And the old starter models and the character animations :( I miss the old cat. I miss the loading screen. I played when I was 6-7 maybe?

That was so heartfelt; like a kick in the gut. It's heart wrenching to realize that it'll never be the same because I'll never be 8 again. 7 years of playing Star Stable and while I still log on every once in a while, maybe join a club during school breaks but then be kicked out because I'm not active enough due to homework and school activities, it's not the same. I cherish the memories I have of those easy times. When I wasn't in trouble for "wasting" my life away on the computer just for social life. I miss the friends I made so many years ago who no longer play the game, and think it's "childish". This is one of the only ways I have friends when schools out for summer or holidays. It's just me and my parents in the house now, and my friends from school spend time with their family. But I connect so much more with people who can only judge me based off of my personality and level or whatever in the game. The old times are gone, but my memories will always be with me (unless I get Alzheimer and forget literally everything about my life) and I'll enjoy them whenever I remember that day I met Taryn or the day I found that I could run and jump at a certain point on a bridge and go flying across the fly. Those were the days life was simple and no one can ever take the happiness I had at those moments away. Thank you Star Stable for all those wonderful times that I had and maybe are still to come.

You`re so right, it does look plastic. The trees, rocks, + fences now look like something you`d find in a kids playset. It`s sad that they went down this road imho.

This is really sad! I didn’t realize how much I miss and love the old version of sso. I honestly love the new version and all, but the old one is just nostalgic tbh🥺

I haven't played so long, I started playing around 2016. But some things still have changed :] And I just miss one old thing. The old Loretta, I just hate how nice she is now lol

Why did this legit nearly make me cry?

Star Stable was a way to connect with a friend of mine who lived five states away (US). We grew up together through our early teens playing it, we fell out of touch in eighth grade, we talked for the first time in so long just a few weeks ago - and how did we do that? Through SSO mail. It has always been our game. We’ve spent so long on it together, hacking into areas, deleting pants files to be wild horses, having our own little role plays away from the other players. We even did a role play where Elizabeth was our mother figure; our guardian. Now Elizabeth is gone, we don’t talk that much anymore, we’re each dealing with our own friendships and families hundreds of miles away from each other. But once every so often we both log on to the world we’ve known for over seven years, and we get to forget reality just as we did then... It’s not the old graphics or animations that tie us to this game - it’s the nostalgia for our childhoods.

The first time I really felt pain in my chest and started crying wtf

When you said you grown up, it tore my heart. I’m very happy they left the old horses still. I just got 2 of them and instantly teared up. I remember when Epona got released, hacking into epona when you didn’t unlock it and looking at the exciting pink loading page with the horse and the rider in the corner. One thing to remember is, StarStable is always the same, it may not look like it, but it is in the core. Some old characters and horses are still there. StarStable can’t go back to old graphics but, it’s a game that we will remember being ugly and beautiful all at once.

i've been playing for about 6 and a bit years now, and boy would it make me cry if even for a day the old graphics were back, and i saw my old friends and club again. ever since 2017, i've completely lost track of which horses have been released when, as i remember the icelandics and thouroughbreds being released and the hype around them, and now it's just gone. i do love the game now though, and i hope the newer players make the most of now so they have amazing memories to look back on like us older players do.

i remember the game froze up when i first started and i cried and my dad found me crying about it and showed me the power of control+alt+delete

I remember the snow in Jorvik. I was so excited and every year I would search up 'is there going to be snow in sso again?'. I know they probably won't put snow in again so I gave up. I really miss it. I just wish they made some sought of server that you could switch onto and there would be the old star stable. Imagine that. I would love that. Everyone would. Everyone would get the experience of it, and maybe the horses might look a little...rusty back then, but the game was good. Everything was good. So please star stable, I would love a server that you could visit and there would be the old sso.

This video had triggered so many emotions for me. I started when the game first came out and I remember that feeling I had when I logged into SSO for the first time. I have forgotten those feelings and I honestly miss them. When you said "We just grew up", I teared up. I love Star Stable, but it isn't like it used to be. I miss the old graphics, quests, horses, and everything else about it. I miss the feeling of making friends on the game and finding out they were real people. Many people I have met on SSO had started playing 1 or 2 years ago. When they find out that I have played this game for so long, they call me old and bother me about the old times. I miss the kind community the most. I didn't have to deal with snot-nosed brats as I do now. We old SSO players have grown up and are dealing with the stress of reality. All the stress, pressure, and anxiety are weighing us down now and we have no time for video games. So, if you are a new player to Star Stable, remember those amazing feelings and emotions you experienced while playing because before you know it, life passes you by and you will forget everything.

im glad you're addressing the real reason behind this. i'm a little tired of seeing so many comments under sso's instagram posts or sso videos about how they hate the new updates. there's no reason to be negative towards the team just because of nostalgia.

I remember starting to play SSO in 2014. My first SR was in March of that year. I was so addicted to the game. I played all day and night. I had so much fun playing with others and finding more stuff to do. I hated going to school or being told to get off the computer. I just waited til I could get back on again and play again for the next 2-12 hours. I was really addicted.. I wouldn't have been, but I had so so much fun with other people there. I had my moments where'd the people in the game would make me happy, angry and sad. I also remember when the AQHs came out in early 2015. I remember logging on Wednesday, and running to Fort Pinta for no reason, but then I suddenly saw a person run past me with this thin very alive looking horse? I was shocked. I started chasing that person, and luckily, they were going the same way as I. They ran up to the Fort Pinta stables and then I saw it. The AQHs. The one that reaaaally caught my eye was the brown one. I was so confused. I was thinking to myself ''Where'd these horses come from?''. I went to SSO's news and saw the trailer there for the new horses. I was so excited! I asked my Mother IMMEDIATELY for 1,000 SC (Sorry, Mom.) She sighed and bought me some. Then I immediately went to buying my AQH. I named him Silvereagle... which I mean, honestly. It doesn't make any sense.. He's not silver, HE'S BROWN! I honestly did not know how to name horses back then, it seems. Now a couple months ago, I changed his name this summer to BoldRunner. He had been called ''Silvereagle'' for over 4 years! That's a long time, but the name ''Silvereagle'' really bothered me when I got older. So I had to change it. I stopped playing SSO more actively at the start of 2019. I got really bored. I'd get really sad thinking that 95% of my friends just left for a different server or stopped playing. I can't enjoy SSO anymore. I've tried. I just really can't. I miss my old friends. The best years for me in SSO were 2014-2018. Now, 2019 doesn't feel the same. The game is beautiful and so much evolved... but it really isn't the same without my old friends. I enjoyed it. I wish I could go back and play again with all of my friends. All the calls we had, the laughs. It was so so much fun. Most of my friends really did just leave for a different server. I'd follow them sort of.. but I don't want to. The server I grew in.. I didn't.. and STILL DON'T want to leave it. I'll stay there. I really miss the old times.

aw i'm back here in 2021, i miss those times so much. You totally hit it explaining how we feel, i couldn't have said it better myself. We all feel like that, every single 'old' sso player, and i think they'd be lying if they said they weren't. With this whole corona going on, it's making me miss those times, the times i'd log on before school only for about 5 minutes because i'd get shouted at or i'd be running late, the time i had an 'older sister', pretending we'd live together, the basic roleplay. It makes me wonder how all of my old sso friends are now and what they're doing? I loved it so much

I've been playing since 2015 and when you said that some friends of yours may have quit, I seriously started tearing up because I had met my bff on there and we eventually met in real life about a year later, but sadly she started to get bored of the game and quit. Then not long after she moved away so I had lost all contact with her, and I only have the memories to remember her by. She probably doesn't remember me, but I remember her and I always will.
