Thanks so much for sharing these less-discussed and insightful tips, Brisa. I took a whole year to prep my grad school apps, whilst ensuring to avoid a significant amount of conundrums you mentioned - and they definitely helped. Really excited to start my PhD in molecular biology this fall! Keep producing amazing content. You're the best! 😊

Thats okay! No worries!!! A personal statement doesn't have to be "perfect" to be successful! You never know what the outcome will be! In the mean time continue to be such a positive breath of fresh air! (Also so sorry it took soooo long to respond!) Thank you for all your kind words. I really appreciate you!

It does not make sense. I got accepted into degree programs but was rejected by some. I am a very honest person. I am glad I got into the legal field because I will ensure the colleges who rejected me get shut down and pay for their crimes by the laws and policies others and I passed.

Every school is different and it is really hard to understand why one school would accept you while another one will reject you! I am so sorry that you had bad experiences, but happy that you are still on your own path to success! Congrats!

@@BrisaMarie Thank you. The school who rejected me will be shutdown and never told me the reason. I don’t care how different schools are. Those schools will regret it and pay the price by being shutdown. It will come back on them. I told everyone not to go to these schools and made a statement about them as a revenge and mess up their reputation.

Thank you so much for this video. I appreciate your time and effort. In a nutshell, it means there could be a number of factors that could contribute to an applicant being rejected; from GPA, SOP, LOR, Test Scores and among others... But could it be that one can not fully understand what goes through the minds of grad admissions committee? I'll appreciate your feedback.

Yes!!! Honestly that is A HUGE PART! and it's hard because unless you visit and talk to people in the department often it is really hard to know what they are looking for! When it comes down to it, you can't ever know WHY a person got rejected because every circumstance is sooo particular. The most important thing to me, is that people shouldn't internalize the rejection and see it as a measurement of their worth. Or even their ability to go to grad school! Because if you keep working to get better I think anyone can get into grad school!
