    I believe that anyone learning a new language feel exact the same way. Sometimes we're just afraid to speak in the language we're learning because we don't want to make mistakes. I teach English and my students are all like that. Even not having a great English or degree, I teach it. It's a great way I've found to practice and earn some money lol. Today I can talk to anyone in English, I do feel confident but, like, I remember that about 5 years ago I was frightened to speak english, specially if I had someone near me that spoke my mother language. I was so scared of making any mistake. The slightest mistake would ruin my day. Today I see that I was so dumb for being afraid of speaking because that's the right way you'll learn. Some people will make fun of you sometimes if you say something wrong but remember: even they don't know everything and also, that's a great way for you to start sorting the kind of people you want near you. That's one very important thing I've learned: never make fun of anyone who's learning something new. We don't know everything either. By the way, I've just found this channel and I'm in love with Tiffani. I love the way you talk, the way you teach and the way you speak so clear. ❤️

    This lesson really changed my life, I used to complain a lot too, because I was always a great student and almost fluent, it was ackward in the begining, but to practice the content is even more important than just learn it, then progressively forgetting it some days later. While I work I use a mini wireless earphone and listen to her lessons all day long secretely. I also shadow (speak after her) in slow mode. It works.

    Hi Tiffany. I am a Brazilian English teacher and this is the first time I see you. I used to speak to myself in English during my university time and in Spanish, later on, when I was studying my second foreign language. It helped me a lot and I tell my students to do the same. I am happy to know that what I do really works and that other people, like you, do the same. I also have a story: sometimes I was going back home by bus and started to talk to myself in English/Spanish on the bus. When I noticed someone was looking at me, I shaked my head to pretend I was singing. In this way, people wouldn't think I was crazy!!! Thanks for your video. 😙

    I'm a language learner and I'm currently taking a training course to become an english teacher. I want to share my opinion on the subject; so here it is : the only reason why someone's speaking is not as good as their listenting is because most of their vocabulary is still passive, meaning you can understand a lot of words just by hearing them, but when you try to speak you just can't recall all these words you thought you knew at that moment. this is what we call passive vocabulary. now what one needs is how to turn the passive vocabulary into active vocabulary (by active I mean the words pop up into your mind effortlessly while speaking, just like when you speak your native language). my advice is this : don't focus on learning new vocabulary; focus instead on your passive vocabulary, words you already know but you can't use or recall easily while speaking. you do that by spotting and noticing them while reading and listening. use a monolingual dictionary to look their definitions and add them to the favorite list so that you can keep revising them regularly. it's all about practice.

    There are many different ways to start speaking english well. For example I learn english by watching cartoons and movies (cartoons mostly becouse it is easier to understand what is said there). I was trying to learn anythink in english for a long time but I got nothing from it (I could say few words maybe). But then I started surround myself with english content (songs, videos, etc.) and the result came to me in no time. I mean I have been doing it in a few monthes and you can see my progress now :) I guess I still make many mistakes when I write or speak but it doesn't matter because people can understand me anyway. All I had to do for it: listen and shadow everything around... just like Tiffany said (and I was continuosly shadowing Tiffany in real time when she said it xD ). So you are right about passive and active words but the problem is how to make passive words become active. The video is about a solvation and not the problem itself :)

  • @truthseeker5796

    @truthseeker5796

    @@nikolaymatveychuk6145 I agree, one needs solutions...but the solution starts from identifying the problem first. Most of learners struggle because they don't know the real problem. We can't find a solution if the problem itself cannot be identified...anyway I can share my own experience on how I have learned english on my own, from scratch and without relying on anybody. But a method may only work well for some people. What I mean is everyone has to find what works for them. By the way, most of my learning time is spent on listening (maybe 90%), this how I have learned english; it's the way children learn their native language

  • @nikolaymatveychuk6145

    @nikolaymatveychuk6145

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@truthseeker5796 "but the solution starts from identifying the problem first" - we already did it. The problem is "some people are not able to speak english even when they know the language really good". But you are speaking about the causes of the problem and we not really need to know them to solve the problem itself :) I agree with you about causes you have named here but I still think it have been not necessary. "it's the way children learn their native language" - not really. Children like to repeat everything they hear. Sometimes they do it so much that it becomes really annoing. So the childlike way to learn english is to be annoying anough and repeat everything hundreds times xD There are many others good ways to make you speaking well but all of them are not childlike.

    A tip I’d give u all would be reading the subtitles while watching tv as much as u can! Shadowing is key here - I’ve been doing that for a long time since I started learning English and u guys it really has helped me incredibly my English has incredibly improved however this is a lifetime learning process - so you would always learn something day by day - and guys don’t get me wrong IT CAN BE SOOOO FRUSTRATING AT TIMES but it’s absolutely normal though so don’t give up ever - you just gotta keep on doing it over and over everyday! - learning any language is a whole commitment situation all around - You have to submerge yourself into it - I even forced myself not to talk as much as I could my native language - so I did all necessary to do so - country, Friends, workplace etc… anyhow guys I hope this helps someway there are always ways to learn if you are willing to - God bless you all.

    Hi, Tiffani. Thank you for making English easy for us. I think the reason why so many people learning English just can't speak English at the same level as they understand English is because they do not expose themselves to doing enough listenings in the language. Understanding what people're saying is just one thing but if they really want to take their English to the next level, what they really need to do is reading and listening. How do I say this? Well, I know from my own experience that the best way to improve your speaking skills in a foreign language is to expose yourself to the language before you actually open your mouth and start talking. Unlike what many people say about learning English, I say this: Listen first and listen a lot. And then.. only then you will start to see the results in your English.

    Es la primera vez que veo un video tuyo y realmente se nota quien tiene el don de enseñar y tú (usted) tienes ésa gracia. He visto muchos videos en inglés, los entiendo, pero no del todo, sin embargo tú video lo entendí todo. Seguiré viendo tus videos y me daré a la tarea de seguir tus indicaciones maestra. Muchas gracias por compartir. DIOS te bendiga.

    After watch this video, i'm really grateful to find your youtube's channel in my home. It really make me recognize to get out of my comfort zone, i mean all this time i dont wanna get out from my comfort zone. At the same time, i get insecure with others just because their english in speaking or writing is very well. English is not just an international languange in my country, but its a must and needed when you wanna get a job in company, one of the qualification is that you must have good english. This is the first time when i watch a video, i get many information and self-consciousness. It really worth and valuable to myself. I think thanks is just not enough to saying everything to you.❤

    Sorry my man but those people are like me, we want to learn English from the English or British. Nothing against this beautifull lady Tiffany but I hope you understand, if you want to learn Spanish you can only learn it from the Spanish which means people from Spain, if you want to learn Russian a Russian will teach you English, just like English. We all speak English around the world but the only people who can teach the world how to speak English are English people, not America or African but english/British people cause no one can speak the language better than them.

    @@renansalazar6 read my comment again cause you did not understand it, I did not say she is not American. I am saying I would rather be thought English by British or English people from England and not American. Wherether white, yellow or brown American cannot teach the world how to speak English when the English language is from England. I am Zulu and the only people who can teach Zulu to the world are Zulu people from South Africa.

    @@sandilemfeka4658 hey man, look, I understand you point, but I disagree, I'm from Brazil, we speak portuguese and I can teach anyone to speak portuguese (if I have the skills of course), different from someone in Portugal or Cabo Verde who also speak portuguese, but if you came here speaking like them there will be a lot of words the people here were not understand but where you are going to or what you gonna do. American, Australian, New Zealand, British english are the same with some variations and accent, open mind my friend! and otherwise clearly could exist some people born in anyplace of the world and have a very high academic skill and now teach British english... I think your comment don't reflect the reality we living.

    Am doing a degree programme in nursing, sometimes I wish to explain a point in English but at the end I find myself using my kiswahili language, I almost got too comfortable since where I come from there's this stereotyping that people from where I come from don't speak good English n I was like they'll just understand me cuz of where I come from, thanks for the eye opener I always thought English is meant for the genius. For sure I'll have to share this vid to my coastal friends.
