I understand more than 90% of what you say, but I can't speak as fluently as I'd like. I watch your videos all the time and I feel like I'm a pro, but when it comes time to speak, I feel demotivated and down.

I'm a US native English speaker living in Los Angeles. I appreciate all that you're doing for people who are trying to master the English language. It's not an issue to have a slight accent in Russian or any other native language. Keep up you're good work. You are loved my many around the world. Have you eaten at Scoma's yet ?

Marina....I studied in Russia as a foreign student, and when I arrived, I was only 17. I learned the Russian language, and it eventually became my mother tongue. Over the phone, no one could distinguish whether I was a foreigner or a native Russian speaker. Fast forward 24 years, and I now find myself in an English-speaking country. My problem is that, although I understand English well and can write decently, my speaking is not fluent. Even after 24 years, I sometimes subconsciously mix Russian words while speaking. Russian is something deeply rooted in my temporal lobe. I'm going to buy your book with the hope of gaining a good grasp of English language.

Hi Marina Thank you for your amazing content I am almost at C1 level. I can read most of academic texts and my listening is good. When it comes to speaking, I am good most of the times, but occasionally I find myself not as fluent as a I want to be. I mean I am pretty fluent most of the times, but sometimes I cannot communicate very effectively. Sometimes, I need to practice what I want to say beforehand. I want to speak English like my native language. I took your Advanced to Proficiency course. It was amazing. However, I still want to improve my speaking skills. What can I do? Thank you again

Summary 1. Phonetic Aspect: how you pronounce words - Watch videos, take a course - Shadowing technique - Record and listen to yourself 2. Vocabulary - Learn 3-5 words a day max - Make sure to use these words in sentences (turn passive vocabulary into active vocabulary) - Learn phrases not just isolated words - Thinking time phrases: “Let me think…”, “I haven’t thought about that before…” (For when you forget words.) - “Could you repeat this please?”, “Sorry, I didn’t catch it.” (For when you don’t understand native speakers pick 1 or 2 and use them all the time) 3. Lexicon Gramatical: how you connect phrases into sentences - Be mindful of the time you’ll need to get comfortable with different grammar structures 4. Discourse - Monologues: topics-how do you talk about yourself, your career, your goals… (Speak to yourself, record yourself) -Dialogues: talk to Chat GPT I hope it helps! 😊
