Why You can't use Hydroquinone for Skin Whitening Long-Term? | Ensoul Medical Clinic
If hydroquinone is so effective for pigmentation, why can't you use hydroquinone long-term??
Hydroquinone is a topical skin-lightening agent commonly used to treat conditions like hyperpigmentation, melasma and dark spots. Hydroquinone is also a potent medicated topical cream that should only be used under the guidance of a healthcare professional or a doctor. While it can be effective in reducing skin discolourations, there are concerns about its long-term use and potential side effects.
But why is it that it cannot be used long-term for pigmentation removal? In this video, Dr. Chiam explains why.

Tranexamic acid Kojic acid Alpha arbutin Look for products that combine them. Also glycolic acid when combined with kojic acid, it gives faster results. Tranexamic acid gives the same result as hydroquinone, but with less side effects.

Hi doctor. I have been using hydroquinone for months now i have stopped. bcz it had made my skin so pale and that was so awkward tbh so i had to stop using it. Now everytime i try not to use it, it makes my skin develop small like micro small pimples around my eyes, smile lines, eye lids, chin area (And its kinda painful rub any creams there) so in order to get rid of those little monster i have to use hydroquinone only for that period of time. Bcz It cures this in barely 1 or 2 nights. Those tiny pimple are nightmare for me bcz i have never been someone who gets pimple. In my entire life i never faced trouble bcz of pimple. all i had was some pigmentations and only bcz of that i had started using this cream now i am doomed i dont wanna use this but only this cream vanishes my pimples over night. Please please help me and tell my what cream should i use to avoid this blander. Would retinol be ok ?? Btw im only 21. Once again doctor please help !!

I get those tiny painful pimples from using a high percentage (10%) of niacinamide. So I reduce mine to 5%. Check the ingredients of other products you use, you may be reacting to one of them. Also do a food allergy test.
