i just started last week and i am doing naked trading. indicators confused the hell out of me and i am not willing to spend years learning how to use them and the nuances of each. now i am practicing the breakout strategy in high volume situations in forex where both markets are open. only drawing my key support and resistance and perhaps a trend line too...I am already gaining consistent profits this week, sticking to 1 good quality trade per session... anyway, i'm all alone in this journey. hoping to meet like minded people along the way to talk trading to.

​@@Jokessssif you try to catch reversals all the time, you're going to get screwed by the market. Instead, remember this proverb, "The trend is your friend, until the end." Basically, find a trend following strategy that will give you a higher win rate over a longer period of time.

There are many ways to use the RSI. In a strong uptrend, when the RSI comes back to the 40 level, that indicates a good pullback has occurred and price might continue again on the upside, so look for buy opportunities. Similarly, In a strong downtrend, when the RSI goes up to the 60 level, that indicates a good pullback has occurred and price might continue again on the downside, so look for sell opportunities.

I tested this, and it works like a charm. This is the only way the RSI should be used. It's a pullback indicator. The RSI was originally only designed for stocks, not forex. Forex doesn't get "overbought" or "oversold".

depends on how you use rsi. it works very well in scalping. if rsi starts moving above 70..then 70 percent of the time it is atleast 30 to 40 pips move in buy direction and if rsi goes below 30 then a 30 to 40 pips move in that direction. also on a smaller time frames if rsi is touching 70 then most it is an up trend...offcourse there are other things to take into account if it is uptrend, resistance broken etc etc

Which RSI Length are you using?

There is no a single indicator that will work perfect all the time + there are many different ways to use the RSI and all of them are valid, just don’t do a trade only because an indicator says it unless you got a strategy That is tested hundreds of times.

I use this with the stochastic oscillator and you'll be able to see the pattern. I trade on 15,30,1hr markets

This is not enough we have to use price action with RSI to become profitable. Whenever there is strong support or resistance Zone RSI will start showing divergences. Two types of Divergence one is for trend continuation and other for trend reversal.

the RSI is a momentum indicator. it depends on speed of change. thus, the RSI will always show divergence because typically the first move is faster than its subsequent moves.

It shouldn't show divergence it should be tracking the price volume and other indications on average

I use the Stochastic RSI that way. The RSI is better at showing divergence.

And Divergences are not definitive either. Both conditions can be burned off as well. Use multi indicator approach. Entry, 1st confirmation, trend, 2nd confirmation, atr, stop-loss take profits

Yep. I've seen divergences fail more often than not. I only use the RSI as a trend indicator or a pullback indicator.

Can also chart on the rsi with trend lines (ideally with a minimum of 3 touch points) to look for shifts in momentum upon the break

Its a good indicator. But just a indicator. There is many to use and shouldn’t only buy or sell of a single indicator

@@davidhawken9364 50% win rate is pretty high in the trading world as it can be paired with others like support and resistance and volume can make your win rate 80 to 90% depending on the level of experience you have(i suggest more than 3, i myself have an experience of 1.5 years and can say it's not luck, it takes time)

Yes, but the problem is divergences doesn't work all the time either. I love RSI divergences, use them, but they have like 80% accuracy ...

I came across an RSI vid that said it’s best to set the lines to 80-20 (80 top 20 bottom) that way you get a better reading of the chart is REALLY over bought or sold

I like to see how it reacts to the mid point and use it for divergence in price volume along with other indications .

Makes sense people have explained it this way before as well… MACD can also be used this way. I guess you can combine the two for confirmation of trend reversal as well as price action and Fibonacci for entries

I feel like you have to use it both ways depending on what your looking for, the overbought and oversold levels are good if your scalping on smaller time frames and looking for reversals. And divergences are good for long term trends

My main chart for MA and Vwap, sub chart is MACD, RSI, ROC and DMA. I need a 3 chart for confirmation, When MA golden cross incoming, RSi goes 50 above, MACD bullish cross signal, I will start for entry and it's have 90% chance have gain, 10% because MA from golden cross become death cross...

Correct, and EVERY stock has its pwn personality.... This is why as you become more seasoned you will only have 10 Stocks in your Bullpen that you want to Master..... Start with 4 stocks to Master in your bullpen.... NOTHING more for the first 30-days

RSI DIVERDENCES POWERFUL but always wait for trend line break and market structure change

Though this might be helpful still we need more confident on the trade by also looking at the price action, candle stick reaction, other indicator (Fibonacci, MACD indicator, Ichimoku cloud, Achored VWAP, Volume profile, etc) for me i normally used like 10 indicators to see if all the indicator show the same answer if most or all of the indicator shows that its a buy/sell signal than ill go for a ride.

All thanks to your strategy I’m up -$1300 from $5000 🙏

In general, this free RSI indicator is not being respected by new traders who are stepping into market. The basic reason on lack of their understanding is , the time period settings. If we keep lesser time period, it shows the path of the price changing too much faster which others feel uncomfortable during market hrs. But what I do is, adding 3 RSI indicators with 3 different time period settings - It worked wonderfully giving me the direction of the price movement of the asset in advance. Truly a good indicator.

how to set it

I've used RSI divergences to look for reversals in the past. It can give "potential" signs of reversals, but be careful as it doesn't always work. For example, Wyckoffs with three pushes down might show a bullish divergence between the first swing low and the second swing low. But instead of a reversal, you might see a massive third push down that totally negates the RSI divergence.

​@@LostAdmin Now I use it to see some confluence in the market rather than a strategy, my wins were usually pretty big with just this, but there were more losers too The price would show it's divergence, then make a pull back enough to look interesting, then continue the trend Maybe I didn't give it enough time and should test higher time frames, but I prefer supply and demand while looking at bookmap for my confirmation
