    The difference is that fantasy settings have a tendency to make greatswords weigh as much as your whole body for some reason. In real life they are quite fast, nimble weapons. Large and awkward to carry? Yes. But not super heavy or unwieldy.

    @@elgostine not really, greatswords are still more ineffective in more close and city-like areas, and halberds are usually even less heavy and cumbersome than them sure, in the end, halberds are still more clunky in tight spaces if it matters, but nobody would use either weapon in a situation if they had a choice and the halberd is like... literally the most often used weapon in the battlefield by knights who aren't mounted very few people in comparison to other weapons actually use the greatsword there's a reason that zweihanders are almost the only "greatswords" ever used in medieval europe

I work as an employee for the Kame Yu department stores, and I get home every day by 8 PM at the latest. I don't smoke, but I occasionally drink. I'm in bed by 11 PM, and make sure I get eight hours of sleep, no matter what. After having a glass of warm milk and doing about twenty minutes of stretches before going to bed, I usually have no problems sleeping until morning. Just like a baby, I wake up without any fatigue or stress in the morning. I was told there were no issues at my last check-up. I'm trying to explain that I'm a person who wishes to live a very quiet life. I take care not to trouble myself with any enemies, like winning and losing, that would cause me to lose sleep at night. That is how I deal with society, and I know that is what brings me happiness. Although, if I were to fight I wouldn't lose to anyone.

    That's a major difference between Japanese and Korean curved sword techniques. The Korean styles often favor momentum compensation or redirection, creating fluid movement and reducing wrist/forearm strain. There is some of that in Japanese styles, sure, but it's more prominent in Korean curved sword techniques.

    Even for empty handes fighting, spinning was long thought to be something you should never do, but it can make sense in some cases. Spinning hammerfists/backhands are very strong, tho risky moves, and a backwards kick from a spin is a useful tool if someone dodges backwards from your kick instead of checking it.

  • @ItsAsparageese

    @ItsAsparageese

    Well said. Also a spinning move can be a great way to conserve momentum if you go for a big circular motion like a roundhouse kick ane end up not connecting. Way better to just whip around and follow it with a spinning back kick from the other foot, for instance, than to just have it fizzle and be partly exposed anyway AND off-balance
