How about a video when you're getting a CEL and the pump itself is good. Thanks!

Great vid, thanks. What year is that 986? Except for the steering wheel being on the wrong side of the car, color is the same as my 2004 Boxster S 6-speed manual trans. :) midnight blue with the light gray and black interior.

I bought a car from these people. The day I collected the handbrake pad retaining springs broke. They couldn't fix it so I drove away in a car with no handbrake. They sent me the parts and I paid a local guy to fit them. He told me the brakes were in a terrible state but in fairness LaRose sent me new pads and discs all round. I did the rears but there was a delay fitting the fronts. When I finally came to fit the fronts I realised they were the wrong ones. I told them but they refuse to change them. So if you want a Porsche with dodgy brakes and like abysmal customer service these guys are the place to go

I have a 986 but I can't keep my eyes of the other cars in the video. The blue 993 and the shit-hot 928 that I hope was not dumped into Lake Michigan.

That car will be back in the garage VERY soon. EVERYTHING fails on these at some point. Built to a price point. Total garbage.

Exactly! My brother ... my stupid brother bought a Porsche, and the engine blew, bits of the car fell off, and every bill was at least £2,000 ... and there were plenty of them. By the end of it, the car was worth less than his used socks! But wasn't it ever thus? The water cooled engine were/are cr@p, remember the 924 and 944 ... yum ... *and the new engines are as reliable as a politician's promise!* And how many class action lawsuits have Porsche been through in the last 20 years or so!!!!

@@utubecomment21 Well... Go look at the reliability ratings for these 986's... They are rated at 4.7 out of 5 on kelly blue book. Yes, parts are more expensive, but so is every luxury car. Yes, you can get unlucky, but that can happen with ANY car. Look at all of the Kia consumer cars catching fire and being recalled. Toyota is having issues with certain models engines. Honda i having issues as well. It's a car... They say 1 in 5 cars are lemons, so sounds like your brother got a lemon.

I try to remember that owning a Porsche is a privilege. Rather like stabling a thoroughbred, they do tend to require extra care and attention, which doesn't always come cheaply. But the beauty of a 986 is you can do a great deal yourself if you're handy with spanners. There's also a lot of info and second hand parts out there. It's always a bit sad to see one get broken, though.
